On Wednesday, June 7, Enness Financial Services hosted a summer soirée at Thirty Nine that celebrated both the company’s ten-year anniversary and the recent launch of their office in Monaco.

“I founded Enness with my business partner Islay Robinson coming up to ten years ago, in August 2007,” Mr Wade-Jones told Monaco Life, “the same week that Northern Rock started to crash in the UK. Great timing!”

Enness arrange mortgages across Europe, including Monaco and the South of France, and also in the Caribbean. They will be opening a fourth office this September in Dubai, as they have a high number of Middle East clients.

And while Monaco may be a glamorous location, Mr Wade-Jones, in a brief thank you speech to the 120 attendees, said it wasn’t always so for the company. “In the beginning, we had one employee, and Islay and I would take turns every month paying her from advances on our credit card.”

Today Enness has two offices in London, in Mayfair and Hampstead, with a team of 70 people.

“In the early days we’d get a dozen clients a month. This past February, we had 1019 inquiries for a value of £1.251 billion,” he added.

Enness is a mortgage brokers for HNWIs and those with complex lending situations. Despite “the rather rocky start”, Enness are now considered the world’s leading broker for HNWI mortgages.

“Property and therefore mortgages is such a big thing in Monaco that we thought it was a natural place to have our European base, so we opened an office in Fontvielle,” Mr Wade-Jones, who will soon move to the Principality with his Brazilian wife and two-year-old, explained.

Fragmented Identity at Opera Gallery

denzlerOpera Gallery Monaco is proud to unveil a facet of Andy Denzler’s work through an exhibition entitled “Fragmented Identity”, from June 22 until July 8.

Born in Switzerland in 1965, Andy Denzler has seen his international career take off in recent years. His work has earned recognition from major art institutions, as well as from private collectors around the world, propelling it to the front of the contemporary art scene.

From the beginning of his career, he has distinguished himself by his artistic language, his aesthetic signature and his singular universe. It fuels a fruitful and constant dialogue between image and substance – the two essential supports of his work.

In sculpture, one often speaks of two competing methods: the subtractive method and the additive method. The first consists of the cutting of raw material in order to make a new form appear, such as Michelangelo stripping of a block of marble. Conversely, the additive sculpture can be illustrated by aggregating wax clusters on a metallic framework until revealing the contours of a silhouette.

For Andy Denzler, the two methods come together, each addition of matter having as a corollary its imminent elimination, allowing the artist’s vision to take shape.

Opera Gallery, open Monday-Saturday from 10 am to 7pm, is located at 1 ave Henri Dunant, Palais de la Scala.

Three more years for Jardim

Jardim

The coach of AS Monaco, Leonardo Jardim, will stay with the team until 2020, the club has announced.

The Portuguese coach has been credited with taking the football club to its first French Ligue 1 title in 17 years.

Monaco is now regarded as one of the most exciting teams in Europe, with its hallmark being the ability to spot very young players and moulding them into outstanding footballers. Not only has Monaco put an end to several seasons of dominance by Paris-St Germain in the French league, but the team also made it to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

AS Monaco players scored 107 goals during the season. The 18-year-old Kylian Mbappe has performed brilliantly and attracted the close attention of a number of Europe’s top clubs. To help make the story sweeter, Colombian forward Radamel Falcao has returned to form after a disappointing spell at English clubs where he was on loan.

There had been speculation that Jardim would be tempted by a move to China, where he would have been paid more than he makes with Monaco, but he said this week that he was excited to stay in the Principality.

“We will work with the ambition to continue this project and continue to grow this club with the same passion that has inspired us from the beginning,” he said, adding, “I am convinced that the future looks very exciting at Monaco.”

A cooperation agreement between Brazil and the Brasil Monaco Project, an intermediary for the Principality of Monaco, was signed by Mayor Victor Doeler, MP Liziane Bayer and Luciana de Montigny, President of the Brasil Monaco Project (pictured on homepage).

André de Montigny, Honorary Consul of Brazil in Monaco, has also said that he fully supports the partnership that facilitates the exchange of information and expertise in the fight against the second cause of mortality among women.
