HSH Prince Albert inaugurated the new premises of the Office of Occupational Medicine (OMT, or Office de la Médecine du Travail) on the morning of Monday, April 23.
Also on hand were Didier Gamerdinger, Minister of Social Affairs and Health, the Director of UNWTO, Pascale Pallanca, and the members of the Steering Committee, the President of the National Council, the Mayor’s representative and employees of the Office.

Father Di Leo, also present at this event, blessed the premises, which are located in the Aquamarine Building at 24 avenue de Fontvieille. The new space gives new impetus to the medical monitoring of more than 4,800 public officials.
At the same time, the medical team has been strengthened and it will be possible for everyone to be seen at least every three years and even more closely for specific posts, such as those related to security, for example.
“Doctors will also be available to administrative departments to support them in the process of ensuring wellbeing at work,” said Minister Gamerdinger.

The Radiotherapy Department of the Princess Grace Hospital Centre successfully completed last week the treatment of a patient with severe neuralgia of the trigeminal cranial nerve. This is a first both in Monaco and the Alpes-Maritimes.
The technique consists of irradiating at a very high dose the nerve in question in order to create a shortcircuit and block the painful impulse. The feat required many months of parameterization by teams at the Princess Grace Hospital and close collaboration with the Neurosurgery Department of Nice University Hospital.

In addition to the long work of setting up the Truebeam Novalis particle accelerator, one of the objectives was to offer the patient a treatment with a non-invasive compression system. On other machines, the irradiation session requires total immobilisation of the patient with fixation of the skull by screws, which many patients find too uncomfortable.
The CHPG teams have developed an irradiation technique with a thermoformed mask on the face of the patient, in order to ensure better comfort during the 45 minutes of treatment. This has borne fruit very quickly with a complete disappearance of pain after a few hours.
Trigeminal neuralgia is severe facial pain due to malfunction of the 5th cranial nerve, or trigeminal nerve, which carries sensory information from the face to the brain and controls the muscles involved in chewing.

The Monaco Red Cross regularly takes part in the promotion of oral hygiene in the Principality. In particular, volunteers are trained each year in kindergartens and schools to raise awareness about good brushing technique.
The Red Cross also provides families with free dental hygiene equipment, including certified organic toothpaste. Following a number of concerns expressed by some parents, the Red Cross points out that the composition of this toothpaste is perfectly in line with European regulations.
Each parent obviously remains free to use, or not, the material provided. The Monaco Red Cross is always available to answer parents’ questions. info@croix-rouge.mc
Life is funny sometimes. All winter I was saying to myself, “Nobody is here, it’s so boring in Monaco” or lamenting over the lack of festivities. This weekend hit me like a ton of bricks. Suddenly the streets were filled (overcrowded), I couldn’t get a table at Sass! They had been all booked many hours beforehand, the line at Starbucks was never ending! The season is definitely underway with the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters and Top Marques this weekend and with them brought out the well-heeled masses in their Bentleys and Rolls Royces and the not so well-heeled masses gawking at them from the hairpin bend from behind giant DSLR cameras.
With the weather putting on a good show and the frenzy of activity, the streets were a parade of super cars while the sidewalks were a runway show. But who were the style stars this weekend in the Principality? Here’s your rundown on who wore what.
Jessica Samea
@luxsamea Model Jessica Samea was living HER best life this weekend as she attended the Monte Carlo Masters dripping in labels. Donning my favourite Cote d’Azur summer accessory, the straw boater, Jessica stayed cool and shaded in a green Balmain blazer + Chanel brooch with the must have Gucci vintage throwback t-shirt.
Suns out, pins out? The model opted for a pair of next to nothing denim daisy duke shorts with a classic Moschino logo belt. Heels at a tennis match? This is Monaco. Not any heels will do. Jessica chose to show off in a pair of black Dior slingbacks. Heels are always practical, that is when the driver drops you off.
Adding to the uber-trendy mood of her look she accessorised with a graphic graffiti print Christian Louboutin Paloma bag and oversized sunglasses. Behind those shades was she really watching the tennis or just checking out the fashion competition? We’ll never know, but don’t worry Jessica, you’re a contender in this match.

@svetli Love is in the air. And so are the luxury looks! Glam Svetli snuggled up to her man looking positively chic underneath a straw sun hat that added a touch of rustic charm to her high-end look. With her hair tied with a beautiful silk Louis Vuitton scarf there was no fear of it getting in the way of a kiss from her man.
A beautiful green floral blouse fit in well with the naturalistic and romantic setting. White jeans with a tiny trendy rip on the knees said that Svetli had no intentions of sitting on any of nature’s seating arrangements. Dolce Gabbana imitation hotel slip-on sandals were a statement of comfort and to really set the look off, Svetli opted for a bold red Louis Vuitton Capucines handbag. Like Carrie Bradshaw, Svetli has her labels and love all together. #GOALS
Yana Weiman
@yanaweiman Monaco, the magical place on earth where women are in full hair and makeup before even finishing their coffee. Beauty Queen Yana knows the importance of always being camera ready.
Serving a pretty-in-pink moment from her glam to her outfit, her present and future are looking rosy. Somewhere Coco Chanel is turning over in her grave but probably just yawning and going back to sleep as Yana shows us a sexier way to wear the classic Chanel suit because sex sells and Coco was all about the coins. Step one: open jacket. Step two: wear a bustier. Step Three: Be Yana Weiman. Easy.
For sure as soon as Ms Weiman stepped into the Fairmont in her Valentino Rockstud heels many a male gazer was suddenly alert without a sip of caffeine.
Matteo Naoui
@matteons Here’s one for the boys on how to just look cool and luxury and edgy and trendy and like a fashion victim etc etc. That was not shade, “fashion victim” dressing is a legit aesthetic! Stylish teen Matteo loves some hyped up luxury basics.
Okay, so for all of you who aren’t so up on your pop culture, rapper Kanye West goes by the nickname YEEZUS and created a whole line of exclusive and highly-coveted tour merch around it. Matteo rocks a t-shirt from that collection featuring a praying skull to set up the gothic luxury vibe of his outfit. Throw in the most popular Instagram accessory, the Gucci Marmont belt + the black velvet fur Gucci Princetown slip-ons and you’ve got a slick fit going.
I like this look a lot. It’s not too flashy, it’s cool, and could be dressed up with a blazer for evening situations. In the sea of oxford shirts and khaki pants or t-shirts and cargo shorts that I saw all weekend around the Grimaldi Forum, this look was refreshing.
Aysun Kaba
@aysunkaba Fashion Editor Aysun blazed a stylish path around Monaco this weekend as she combined textures and aesthetics in her various outfits, but my favourite is definitely this daytime casual look. Super love this romantic gothic prairie dress with rock n roll vibes … if that makes sense.
With the sheer sleeves and ruffle detailing, the dress makes you look twice and again with all the cool things going on. When wearing a busy dress it’s best to keep the shoes and accessories simple. Aysun opted for THE sneaker of the moment, the Balenciaga Triple S in black that really took this look to even edgier heights. I’m such a fan of dresses and sneakers just as I love sweat pants and high heels.
A little black bag with steel chain handle adds that rough street vibe that really contrasts the feminine aspects of the dress. To add just a tiny bit more of girlish fun, Aysun wears a pair of pink tinted aviators that keep the look funky. Definitely the wild card of the bunch Aysun has her own unique style and doesn’t need any cliché run of the mill luxury items to do so.
