The attention of the Government of Monaco has been drawn to commercial flyers distributed by a company called Help Mask, which claim that its product provides 60 minutes of breathing without fresh air in the event of a fire.
Monaco’s fire-fighting services have serious reservations about the alleged effectiveness of this mask, the Government said. Subsequently, the Government is warning residents to be extremely vigilant if they have already acquired such a device, or are considering doing so.
Also, it is important to point out that although the emergency numbers 18 and 112 are included in the prospectuses sent out by the company, no recommendation has been made by the relevant departments on the products in question.
In order to improve the circulation in the boulevard des Moulins sector, to streamline the flow of vehicles and to facilitate the access of emergency services, the State Services have set up a new traffic system, which will be tested for a few months from Tuesday, June 5.
Bus lines 1 and 4, as well as the buses of the regional line 100 Nice-Monaco-Menton arriving from the direction of Place des Moulins, will no longer take the narrow lane of avenues Saint Laurent and Saint-Charles, but continue straight ahead between the crossroads boulevard des Moulins/avenue Saint Laurent and the Madonna roundabout. Other vehicles (VL, PL, 2 wheels) will continue to join the roundabout by the road that passes directly in front of the church Saint-Charles.
The left turn from boulevard des Moulins to avenue Saint-Laurent will be kept in place, particularly to facilitate access to the Saint-Charles School for parents. A number of parking spaces will be moved or abolished, while the pedestrian crossing will be moved a few metres for safety reasons. Delivery bays will also change.
The reason behind this overhaul of the traffic system at this very busy spot is to improve the response time of emergency services, which have been impeded on occasions in the past. The new scheme is also expected to improve the punctuality of bus services.

President of the National Council Stéphane Valeri, accompanied by José Badia, President of the External Relations Commission, and Virginie Cotta, Head of Cabinet, received on Wednesday, May 23, HE Cristiano Gallo, Italy’s Ambassador to Monaco.
In particular, they discussed the concerns of the large Italian community of more than 8,000 people living in Monaco, who in many respects face the same issues as those of the Monegasques, particularly in terms of quality of life and housing.
Mr Valeri spoke of the tabling of a proposal to go before the elected assembly for a law on the sustainability of a protected housing sector, at moderate rents, intended to maintain a stable population of “Enfants du Pays” in the Principality, including many who are Italian nationals.
Among the highlights of the Town Hall’s summer programme is the second edition of the “Exotic Gardens Celebrate,” on June 2 and 3, with a programme of many activities for children including pony rides, a great interactive game … and for families, the chance to visit the greenhouses of the new Botanical Centre in the form of four guided tours per day (on advance registration).
The annual Fête de la Musique celebration, takes place on June 21 with many concerts in town throughout the day and with a big free concert on the Port of Monaco at 9 pm with Naâman, a young artist in the new reggae scene in France.
The third edition of the Splash Party on Monday, July 2, takes place with a novelty this year: the 12-17 year-olds who are schooled or resident in the Principality will meet at the Stade Nautique Rainier III, not in the evening as usual but in the afternoon between 3 and 7 pm.
Later, Les Musicales will take place from July 4 to August 22 with a concert every Wednesday from 7:30 pm to 10 pm (except on July 25), offering a show dedicated to children at Square Gastaud in varied styles, like bossa, gypsy, jazz, swing, rock and Brazilian music.
The International Fireworks Competition becomes Monaco Art en Ciel, although the new name for this flagship event of Monaco’s summers doesn’t change any other feature of the series of four firework displays on the Port, each one staged by a different country.

The Principality of Monaco has been asked by the French Ministry of Culture to participate in the “Rendez-vous aux jardins” event, which this year has the theme of “A Europe of gardens”.
This event is part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage. It is above all a great garden party that will allow the general public to discover remarkable spaces and to exchange ideas and information with professionals.
For its first participation in the event, the Prince’s Government will offer various activities, including guided tours. Only by appointment, they will be held on June 2 and 3 by the Gardens Section of the Urban Planning Department, to discover the gardens of the Principality: the Princess Grace Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, Jardins Saint Martin and the two new Parcours des Arbres Patrimoniaux (Trail of native trees): Fontvieille and Monaco Ville.
From Friday, June 1, the Principality’s students will be able to discover, in preview, the new Parcours des Arbres Patrimoniaux of Fontvieille, with a botanical trail that will take them from the Princess Grace Rose Garden to the UNESCO Gardens.
Then, in parallel with the event and in collaboration with the Directorate of Tourism and Congresses and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the official launch of the new brochure of “Parcours des Arbres Patrimoniaux” will be on Friday, June 1, at 5 pm, at which time a new brochure that includes the three trails will be presented.
A tour of the Fontvieille route will follow, with commentary, from the UNESCO gardens to the Roseraie.

Between fashion shows at Amber Lounge, Philipp Pleins’ annual F1 bash at Jimmy’z, the Tagheur yacht party and much more, one begins to “I don’t feel so well” (that was an Avengers Infinity War joke, just so you know).
Grand Prix brings out the masses that you can quickly by sight divide: The Watchers and The Players. The Watcher typically don some sort of comfortable foot wear, cargo shorts and their “going out shirt” usually some a manmade fibre in a pattern that shouldn’t see the light of day.
The Players … well … you’ll know them from the blinding flash of diamonds and gold, with a lingering trail of Tom Ford fragrances. This weekend The Players were playing to win a bit like Daniel Ricciardo (Congratulations on your F1 win). They were going for the gold. LITERALLY.
