Following a series of interviews with health professionals, health institutions, beneficiaries of the health system, and economic actors in the Principality, the Department of Social Affairs and Health and Frédéric Genta, the Government official responsible for digital transition, held a seminar on June 26 with all those involved.

Ylios representatives first shed light on the notion of e-health and its issues before launching a debate in view of the joint construction of a global roadmap for e-health strategy in Monaco and to target the first initiatives to be carried out in the short and medium term.

These constructive exchanges revealed a common will of both the Government and the participants to act quickly. The Minister said: “We must move quickly and resolutely forward and place the patient at the heart of our thinking.”

New website and new address for Tourism Office

Monaco Palace

Administered by the Tourism and Congress Department (DTC), the Monegasque tourism website, www.visitmonaco.com, has recently been given a new look. New features include a stronger link to social networks.

The site now displays more editorial content in the form of articles and videos. This new version of the site was designed for visitors and customers but also for the Principality’s tourism partners to support a joint effort.

The change of the DTC is not only virtual, since most of the services of the Directorate of Tourism has also moved to new premises at the Athos Palace, in Fontvieille at 2 rue de la Lüjerneta.

After 47 years spent in the legendary Monte-Carlo building, this is a new start for the teams that promote the Principality internationally. However, the tourists will not be left out, since the main reception facility for the public remain always at the same place, at 2A Boulevard des Moulins in Monaco.

IMSEE presents the economic benefits of the Grand Prix

Conf L Galfre announcing results

Lionel Galfré, Director of the Monegasque Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (IMSEE), presented at a breakfast conference organised by the Monaco Economic Board (MEB) on Thursday, June 28, the results of the study on the economic benefits of the 2017 Grand Prix.

The economic impact of the 2017 Formula 1 Grand Prix reached €90 million in Monaco over the four-day period over two square kilometres. These figures confirm, moreover, that the Formula 1 Grand Prix is the most important event held in the Principality, whose economic benefits far exceed the four days of the event and extend beyond the borders of Monaco.

The occasion was also an opportunity for the Director of IMSEE to discuss the main economic figures for the year 2017 and to present the 2018 version of the statistical collection “Monaco en chiffres” (Monaco in numbers). More information on www.imsee.mc.

Tom Wesselmann exhibition ‘The Promise of Happiness’ at Villa Paloma

NMNM

Until January 6, 2019, the public will be able to discover at Villa Paloma – NMNM – an exhibition consecrated to one of the leading representatives of American Pop Art, Tom Wesselmann.

“Beauty is only the promise of happiness” is a leitmotif borrowed from Stendhal. The exhibition, which is not a retrospective, is interested in the portrait that Wesselmann draws of ‘the woman’ – who has often been the subject of polemics because of her so-called ‘objectification’ – and offers a much more nuanced analysis of the relationship between the artist and his female subject.

Chris Sharp, curator of the exhibition, collected 25 paintings, drawings and sculptures between dating from 1963 to 1993. Some of the works are from the artist’s series such as Great American Nudes, Bedroom Paintings, Seascapes and Still Life. A visit with commentary by the curator of the exhibition, Chris Sharp, will take place on Sunday, July 1 at 16:00 (free admission).

Admission to the NMNM is free every Sunday.

Casino Café de Paris made Place du Casino jump on June 23

Cafe de Paris

On Saturday, June 23, the art of celebration and the effervescence of the 1920s took over the Casino de Café de Paris: more than 4,000 people, including 1,500 members of the My Monte-Carlo programme, took part in the exceptional evening organised by the Casino on the theme of the Roaring Twenties.

Cafe de Paris

It was a great success for the Société des Bains de Mer, whose ambition it is to make Monaco the most beautiful and most exclusive gaming destination in Europe.

More than 1,500 members of the new My Monte-Carlo loyalty programme, some of whom arrived in collector cars loaned by HSH Prince Albert II, had the pleasure of discovering a fabulous Art Deco atmosphere brought to life by the Casino teams.

About fifty artists followed one another under the dazzled eyes of the guests for ever more amazing performances: dancers, acrobats, jugglers, magicians, actors … All in a musical atmosphere with swing artists, a Ragtime pianist, a saxophonist, live singers and a DJ who invited the guests to join him on the stage for some crazy dance parties.

Among the gifts offered to players during the evening were accessories from the roaring twenties, tokens and glasses of champagne, one of which revealed a diamond worth 1,200 euros.

Two thousand five hundred people then came to play in this electric atmosphere from 22:00 until the end of the night. The evening was marked by two explosive jackpots of 410,000 euros and 200,000 euros won by members of the My Monte-Carlo programme.

“The evening was an opportunity to express our gratitude to our customers and to convince others of the exceptional nature of our gaming offer. We continue unabated in our efforts to make Monaco the most beautiful and most exclusive destination in Europe,” said Pascal Camia, General Manager of gaming section of SBM.
