Monaco Sunday Experience to launch for summer

Monaco Experience

The annual summer Monaco Sunday Experience, which offers a complete and varied offer combining shopping, well-being, gastronomy and culture, launches on Sunday, July 8, and lasts until September 9.

Since the labour laws stipulate that Sundays should be considered as days of rest, merchants will need to get special permission to open.

Merchants that wish to open over the busy summer period need to contact the Labour Inspectorate for authorisation and a special permit. The merchant will have to specify the agreed amount of remuneration for staff.

In order to better promote Monaco Sunday Experience, the Direction of Tourism and Congresses, the Government Communication office and the Welcome Office will be using multi-media communications to highlight the businesses that are taking part.

To appear on this site, merchants concerned must approach the Welcome Office to give details of dates and opening hours.

Mr Rose is a former head of the Principality’s Tourism and Conventions Office and has unequalled experience in projecting Monaco’s image in an international context. Monaco continues to commit itself against deforestation

Palace of the Prince of Monaco.

Monaco has been working on the sustainable management of forests since 2011, when the charter on the use and the virtuous management of wood was launched, the fruit of a partnership between the Prince’s Government, the Prince Albert II Foundation of Monaco, the MC2D association and the IMEDD.

A number of Monaco organisations are committed to sustaining forest products through their actions, their purchases or their production methods. Traceability and valuation are also taken into account to ensure effective monitoring of the timber industry. The assessment for 2017 is encouraging and confirming the signatories’ involvement and the usefulness of the Charter.

As a reminder, according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation, in 1990 the planet had 4,128 million hectares of forest against 3,999 million hectares in 2015. It is important to consider the importance of biodiversity in soil and water conservation, carbon storage, population dependency, and sustainable development.

The fight against deforestation is included in the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015 (SDG 15 and especially 15.2 promoting sustainable management of all types of forest).
