Antoni Marti Petit, Head of the Government of Andorra and Nicola Renzi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Politics and Justice of San Marino, met HE Mr. Serge Telle, Minister of State.

Antoni Marti Petit, Head of the Government of Andorra and Nicola Renzi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Politics and Justice of San Marino, met HE Mr. Serge Telle, Minister of State, on Friday, July 13, in order to discuss the progress of negotiations between the small states of Europe and the European Union, which started in March 2015.

Antoni Marti Petit, Head of the Government of Andorra and Nicola Renzi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Politics and Justice of San Marino, met HE Mr. Serge Telle, Minister of State.

The working meeting held at the Ministry provided an opportunity for the three delegations to review their negotiating strategies, the timetable and the areas in which the three countries can defend common positions.

This meeting was followed by a press conference at which Serge Telle declared: “These regular meetings at the level of Heads of Government are important because they make it possible to assess the political framework in which our three countries negotiate with the European Union and to what extent we can defend our particularities together.

“We have heard the call of the European Union to reach a political agreement before the end of the Juncker Commission’s term of office in 2019. We are working so that these negotiations take place under the best possible conditions. However, this agreement is more important than it is urgent. We will not sign an agreement that does not take into account our specificities.”
