AS Monaco had a very encouraging start to the Ligue 1 season with a 3-1 victory away against Nantes on Saturday, August 11.
The Monegasques scored three times in 15 minutes in the second half, with goals from Rony Lopes, Jovetic and Falcao.

Vadim Vasilyev, ASM’s vice-president, said after the game: “It’s a good start to the season, the team is not ready yet 100 percent but we have a lot of talent and quality.
“We are in the process of completing our transfer window even though Keita Balde may have to leave. It is not yet done with Inter Milan but we are discussing the terms of his departure. He will not necessarily be replaced because we have a lot young quality players,” he said.
Monaco’s next game is at home to Lille on Saturday, August 18, starting at 20:00.
French government takes plastic recycling step further
The French government, which is aiming for a 100 percent goal for recycled plastics by 2025, wants to encourage consumers to favour products made from recycled materials. This system will be in place starting in 2019.
According to Brune Poirson, Secretary of State for Ecological and Solidarity Transition in an interview at the Journal du Dimanche, it will soon be more expensive to buy non-recycled plastic products.
“Tomorrow, when there is a choice between two bottles, one made of recycled plastic and the other not, the first will be cheaper,” she told the Sunday newspaper.
Currently, only a quarter of plastic packaging is recycled. The battle will begin in earnest next year.
In addition, the government’s plan for recycling plastics will include a reduction of VAT on recycling and the increase of the TGAP (general tax on polluting activities) on landfill, as announced by Prime Minister Edouard Philippe in April.”
We must have a clear fiscal trajectory for the coming years to allow communities and citizens to adapt, without compromising the finances of the cities that commit themselves,” Brune Poirson said.
By January 1, 2020, single-use plastics, such as straws and mixing sticks, will be banned.
Destination Monaco asks for help using hashtags socially
As part of its digital strategy, the Prince’s Government invites all local stakeholders to use certain hashtags in their publications on social networks in order to unite the community and participate jointly in the promotion of Destination Monaco.
A quick reminder for neophytes: a hashtag is a key word or phrase preceded by the # symbol used in a digital message. It acts as a “label” (marker, tag or meta-data) for this word or phrase, helping to drive more visitors. The use of hashtags in a communication strategy is necessary to gain better visibility.
The use of certain keywords is particularly useful for promoting the Principality on social networks, particularly on Twitter and Instagram.
“The Prince’s Government encourages you to federate a community around:
#monacomoments. It can be used for all moments of life of the Principality. To date, 852 postings on Instagram are referenced #monacomoments,” the Government says.
On the initiative of the Directorate of Tourism and Congresses (DTC), #visitmonaco is to be used in the context of tourism, destination, hotels. It follows an editorial line consistent with the website of the DTC: www.visitmonaco.com. To date, 33,500 Instagram posts are referenced #visitmonaco.
All environmental, or ‘green’ messages, should be promoted with the hashtag #mcgreenglam. The DTC has recently launched a first video campaign, in the form of episodes, entitled “Green is the new Glam”, centred around the theme of the family. Other episodes are in the pipeline. To date, 505 Instagram posts have been referenced #mcgreenglam.
The Junior Chamber of Economy of Monaco starts its six-part training programme dedicated to leadership and management on September 22, in partnership with the management and human resources consulting firm GROW UP Human Resources.
Thierry Chausse and Jean-Philippe Ackermann will offer the keys to success in business and tools to better manage a team and adopt the real status of leader. The six training sessions are not to be missed, the JCE said.
The first session takes place with the title: “Adopt a champion mind to boost collective performance,” and will take place on Saturday, September 22, from 09h to 17:00 with GROW UP Human Resources at JCEM headquarters.
“Like a sportsman, a good manager is a champion in the company: he wins victories… he must be in good physical shape, he must behave as a leader, never give up, be pugnacious…
“It is the awareness and mastery of one’s mental strength and constant optimism that gives him the resources to face the most complicated events, motivate his teams and lead them to success,” the JCE says.
The training course ends on December 6 with the topic: “Better selling: the storytelling of the product.”
