A visit to the Monte-Carlo Aesthetics congress

Marina Matkova at MCALive 2018

The Monte-Carlo Aesthetics Live is a major congress in the beauty industry. We visited the event at the Grimaldi Forum between 20th and 23rd September.

Under the high patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, the venue for a second time provided an excellent and interactive approach, showing live demonstrations on the stage of Auditorium Prince Pierre.

The MCA-Live conference gathered the best international specialists, doctors, professors, leading brands and latest technologies in the field of anti-aging medicine.

The conference consisted of the several complementary sectors. Pre-congress on 20th September was named “ONE2ONE” and was a hands-on training for facial aesthetics that gave an opportunity to sharpen the injection skills under the direction of a private tutor.

The favorite facial zones chosen by young professionals to practice were lips – pumped with hyaluronic acid fillers; foreheads – numbed by botulinum toxin; and “the 5 minutes” nose jobs – a fast emerging trend that replaces the need for traditional plastic surgery. The effect lasts about a year or two.

The other part of the congress was VISAGE, theoretical and practical part (21-23 September), where attendees gained skills and competence in the facial anatomy, various rejuvenation techniques associated to aesthetics and, nevertheless, complication prevention knowledge.

Every participant received a certificate from the European Council for Continuing Medical Education and Sunday’s groups even continued their internship at the Head and Neck Institute in Nice.

The most interesting topics presented by distinguished anti-aging experts like Prof. Claude Dale, Dr. Thierry Besins, Dr. Philippe Kestemont and Dr. Cecile Winter were: sexual antiaging, non-invasive fat removal, acne scar treatment, profiloplasty and regenerative stem cells ethical use.

For local Monaco spectators, even with a simple VISITOR’s PASS you could have an exciting tour around the exhibition area, where well known “beauty magnates” exposed their goods.

Average visitors were able to try beauty machineries like CO2 lasers, LED lamps and other “forever young” equipments. Some of the industry giants like CROMA, Universkin, Teoxane and Filorga revealed their bespoke products and offered an exhibition price for keen-to-buy guests.

If you missed this educational event, you still have a chance, as something even bigger is coming up in the April 2019. Get your early bird ticket (till 31/10/2018) for an annual AMWC. Every year, this highly awaited event attracts more than 10,000 participants coming from more than 120 countries. More than 300 leading international cosmetic companies, showcasing the beauty procedures on the three-floor exhibition Grimaldi Forum’s area. See you there.

The Government of Monaco has renewed its partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), a partnership that has been running since 2011.

Her Excellency Mrs. Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Monaco to UNODC and Mr. Jean-Luc Lemahieu, Director of the Division of Analysis Policy and Public Relations at the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna signed a new Partnership Agreement to continue providing assistance to victims of trafficking in Senegal, including children.

Particularly committed to the protection of vulnerable children, the Prince’s Government has been working with UNODC since 2011 on this issue. This partnership has already enabled the direct care of 200 victims, support for the creation of a national anti-trafficking unit, and the training of Senegalese magistrates and police officers in the care of the victims. specific cases. In Senegal, more than 100,000 children are forced into forced begging on a daily basis.

This third phase of the program (2018-2020) aims to strengthen the protection and assistance of victims, to support the Senegalese State in its intervention and to mobilize the general public on the existing protection measures in this area and the risks to the perpetrators of child trafficking.
