Monegasque Cooperation presents strategy to help a million beneficiaries

On the occasion of Monaco National Day, and following the consular meeting organised by the Directorate of Diplomatic and Consular Relations, the Directorate of International Cooperation (DCI) brought together the consuls of its 11 partner countries. This meeting made it possible to take stock of the DCI for the 2015-2017 period and to present to them the 2018-2020 strategy, whose main objective is to help more than one million direct beneficiaries during these 3 years.

Presented jointly by Gilles Tonelli, Government Counselor – Minister of External Relations and Cooperation, and Bénédicte Schutz, Director of International Cooperation, this new strategy includes the following points:

  • Significant increase in Official Development Assistance
  • Refocus on 11 countries including 7 African LDCs (Least Developed Countries)
  • Strengthening direct aid to local actors
  • 1 new area of ​​intervention: food security
  • Strengthening emergency humanitarian assistance and refugee support
  • And above all, an objective of more than 1 million direct beneficiaries (against 800,000 for the period 2015-2017)

Radio Ethic held, in partnership with the Directorate of Communication, a live broadcast revolving around the energy transition. The theme of the show was particularly so because of the personal involvement of HSH the Sovereign Prince, 1 st signatory of the National Pact for the Energy Transition.

Several actors of sustainable development in the Principality participated: Annabelle Jaeger-Seydoux, Director of the Mission for the Energy Transition, Roland de Rechniewski, Director of the Company of the Buses of Monaco, Marjorie Crovetto-Harroch, Deputy Mayor, Delegate to the Framework of Life, Environment and Sustainable Development, Céline Varenio, SMA sorting ambassador, Nicolas Buteau, manager of the Mobee Company and Kate Powers, manager of the Stars’n’Bars restaurant. The show, hosted by the journalist Noël Fantoni, was held in the establishment that will also propose Sunday, November 25, an afternoon dedicated to the energy transition.

Many themes were mentioned during the program: mobility, waste, buildings, fight against disposable plastic, food waste, pedagogy. The main projects of the Principality, such as the extension at sea or the future cable car, were also mentioned.

On November 12, 2018, HE Mrs. Mireille Pettiti, Ambassador of the Principality of Monaco to the Russian Federation, went to Rostov-on-Don to prepare the cultural and economic operations that will take place there. 2019.

The Governor of Rostov, Mr. Vassili Golubev, received the Ambassador to discuss some of these projects, such as: the holding in September 2019 of a mission of the Monaco Economic Board, the presentation of the exhibition “Monaco, history of artists and the participation of the Principality in the Rostov Film Festival.

These various operations were also discussed with Mr. Prisiajnouk, Regional Chairman of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ms. Kruze, Director of the Rostov Regional Museum of Fine Arts, and Kozliakova, Director of the Festival. of Rostov Cinema.

It should be noted that the city of Rostov-on-Don is an economic, industrial and scientific center. Its population is over 1,100,000. It is the capital of the Southern Federal District of the Russian Federation. Mr. Andrei Myshkovets, Honorary Consul, represents the Principality of Monaco since January 2015.
