Triathlete Sara Dossena will be at the start of the 5km Herculis in the “Monaco Run supported by Laureus” on Sunday 17 February.
The multi-talented Veneto marathon runner has confirmed her participation in the Monaco event, during which she will try the new official distance of 5km on the road.
After a glorious career dedicated to the Triathlon, Dossena decided to devote herself exclusively to 5km running.
She comes to Monte-Carlo with the ambition to set the national distance record.
MonacoRun has a program of events that will take place throughout the weekend of 16 and 17 February around the port of Monaco.
For the 5km race on the road, MonacoRun aims high, joining the Herculis EBS athletics meeting, to try – on Sunday 17 February – a race that is among the fastest in the world.
In addition to the Elite race, on Sunday 17 February a City Trail of about 10km is scheduled: a unique opportunity to walk the streets of the Principality.
Saturday 16 February sees the 1000m Sport for Good event, open to everyone from eight years of age. This will take place around Port Hercule.
The Pink Ribbon Walk will take place on Sunday 17 February. It is a walk for charity and to raise awareness of the fight against breast cancer. The participants will cross the Principality strictly dressed in pink.
Joanna Lumley OBE to host 2019 Datacloud Awards in Monaco
The 12th Annual Datacloud Awards ceremony to be held in Monaco, June 4th, 2019 has announced actress, model and charity campaigner, Joanna Lumley OBE as host for the evening. The event will also include entertainment for an expected international audience of 900 guests.
“We are delighted and honoured to have Joanna Lumley joining us as the Datacloud Global Awards” remarked BroadGroup Chairman Philip Low. “Reflecting the industry defining ceremony for 2019, the Judges have extended several regionally specific award categories including Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa and the Americas covering data centre excellence and data centre service provider of the year.”
Chairman of the Judging Panel Gerd Simon remarked that “The 2019 Datacloud Awards offer a global platform for players in digital transformation businesses to inspire the markets with their pioneering spirit. The Awards provide ever higher benchmarks in recognizing achievement in leadership and innovation.”

A number of new awards for 2019 were also announced and include the cybersecurity sector and the information security market, how data centres contribute to the shaping and enabling of Smart Cities, the 5G Forerunner award recognizing a significant contribution to best practice in 5G deployment and also recognizing innovation of IT architecture, design and data centre construction for Hyperscales.
Focused on customer implementation which has made the greatest impact in data centre and cloud services, 2019 will also see for the first time a Digital Champion award.
The Judges have also launched three new Edge awards reflecting its growing importance: Edge Innovation, Edge Leader of the Year, and Telco at the Edge.
Innovation in global connectivity, and a separate category for Fibre are also both announced as open for nomination.
A popular category recognizing data centre location, is open again to development agencies, governments and trade associations. Similarly, an award is sustained for excellence in leading and implementing Corporate Social Responsibility.
Finally, the Judges were keen to emphasise the importance of new people entering the industry and are offering two awards: Young Engineer of the Year, and Young Digital Leader of the Year.
Nominations close on Tuesday 12th March. Shortlisted companies will be announced during April, and winners announced on the evening of June 4th in Monaco at the black tie ceremony held in the spectacular Le Sporting in Monte Carlo.
Club le Temps de Vivre members gather for the galette des rois
In the presence of Mayor Georges Marsan, his Deputies Camille Svara, Jacques Pastor and Henri Doria as well as Communal Councilors Karyn Ardisson Salopek and Claude Bollati, 120 members of Club le Temps de Vivre were gathered Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Espace Léo Ferré for a festive afternoon around the traditional galette des rois.
After a speech by Claude Bollati, Councilor Communal Delegate to the Club Le Temps de Vivre, who recalled the recent move of the club in its temporary premises at 4, boulevard Charles III before its final installation at the Foyer Sainte-Dévote, afternoon was marked by a musical animation very much appreciated by the members. Some do not hesitate to appropriate the Espace Léo Ferré for a few dance steps.
After tasting the pancakes (frangipanes and brioches), the queens and kings, happy holders of the bean, were called on stage to give them a Monegasque silver piece of 100 francs in its case.
On the occasion of the new year, journalists from the main local and regional media were invited to share a moment of conviviality at the Monaco Yacht Club, in the presence of HE the Minister of State, Serge Telle, of Jean Castellini, Councilor Government-Minister of Finance and the Economy and Didier Gamerdinger, Government Counselor-Minister of Social Affairs and Health.
The Minister of State has notably announced the arrival of Albert Croési as Interministerial Councilor for the living environment and relations with users.
He also gave a date to the media for the presentation of the Energy Transition Mission headed by Annabelle Jaeger-Seydoux.

He reiterated the importance of the work of definition of cost accounting to prepare future budgets.
He confirmed the launch of the housing plan which should be presented to the National Council, then announced at the end of the first quarter of 2019, reminding: “the housing issue should not be confrontational”.
Serge Telle said he was extremely “outraged by the upheavals of the economic model of the press and their repercussions on the difficult job of journalism” and be ready to reflect with professionals on the future of this corporation. He said, “A society without a journalist, is no longer the same society”.
He punctuated this statement by addressing the journalists present: “You represent the balance of power that guarantees the smooth running of society.”
Greetings from the Director of the CHPG to all hospital professionals
HSH the Sovereign Prince attended a ceremony at Princess Grace Hospital to praise all professionals at the hospital. The Prince was accompanies by Mrs. Benoîte de Sevelinges, Director of the Princess Grace Hospital, with his Excellency the Minister of State and the Government Counselor-Minister of Social Affairs and Health Mr. Didier Gamerdinger, presented its wishes to all professionals of the hospital.
In front of many personalities present for the event, the Director of the Hospital drew up a complete report of the activity of the CHPG in 2018, namely:
Most medical services have had occupancy rates above 90%;
More than 80,000 patients have been treated at CHPG at least once, and nearly 200 have chosen to check-up;
99.8% of them consider the care they received to be good, very good or excellent.
Benoîte de Sevelinges praised the generosity of the Prince’s Government with the creation of a complementary pension scheme and the salary adjustment, which has now been completed.

In terms of projects, 2018 will have been a springboard year towards 2019, with, among other things, the signing of the National Pact for the Energy Transition on April 18th.
In terms of works, the year 2019 will see the commissioning of the Blood Transfusion Center and the new sampling center of the laboratory.
The imaging department should benefit before the summer of a brand new interventional radiology room that will allow the CHPG to develop new management techniques for the benefit of patients.
Finally, the year should come to an end with the opening of the new consultations platter of the Pavilion Louis II which will bring together the specialties of digestive surgery, hepatogastroenterology, and urology in conditions of reception and significantly improved.
2019 will finally be the year of digital, with the implementation of the first building blocks of the new Computerized Patient Record, as part of a global overhaul of the information system, a project called e-CHPG.
Finally, Benoîte de Sevelinges concluded his address with a tribute to his predecessor, Patrick Bini, who “left a firm with solid foundations, which will allow it to enter an era of modernization, even before commissioning, long awaited new building”.
