The Prince’s Government receives representatives of the Order of Malta Lebanon

Delegations from the Prince’s Government and the Lebanese Association of Knights of the Order of Malta met this week.

The Monaco delegation was led by Isabelle Rosabrunetto, Director General of the Department of External Relations and Cooperation at the Ministry of State.

They were joined by Marwan Sehnaoui, President of the Lebanese Association of Knights of the Order of Malta, in the presence of HE Mr. Umberto Di Capua, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Order of Malta in the Principality.

This meeting was designed to strengthen the partnership between the Prince’s Government and the Lebanese Association of Knights of the Order of Malta (ALCM) and follows the ministerial visit to Lebanon in April 2018.

This trip was particularly thanks to Gilles Tonelli, Government Counselor – Minister of External Relations and Cooperation, to visit the project supported by the Monegasque cooperation in Kefraya, Beqaa.

This project aims to improve the living conditions of older people in rural areas, particularly in the health field, by maintaining a social link.

Since 2017, the Principality of Monaco has been strengthening its support to vulnerable populations in Lebanon, a country that faces major challenges, particularly because of the Syrian crisis.

By 2020, the partnership between the Prince’s Government and the ALCM could continue in areas of common interest such as health or support for people with disabilities.

The main modes of electric transport were presented with, this year, a focus on the electric bike.

Events covered a range of vehicles

  • Road safety, workshop led by the Public Security Department
  • A fun circuit of electric bikes, proposed by MonacoBike, with the support of FatBike
  • The discovery of the Monaco bikes, led by the Monaco Bus Company.
