A representative from Monaco’s digital security agency has been trained in the latest digital forensics and security research at a dedicated conference in Norway.
The Monegasque Agency for Digital Security was represented by Pierre Morlon, Chargé de Mission, at the Digital Forensics Research Workshop (DFRWS) annual European conference, which took place from 24th to 26th April in Oslo at the National Criminal Investigation Service (Kripos).
DFRWS is a non-profit organisation dedicated to bringing together all people with a legitimate interest in digital forensics to meet new challenges in this area. The DFRWS organises digital conferences dedicated to forensics, challenges and international collaboration to guide research and development.
This event included more than 24 hours of in-depth technical sessions covering the latest digital forensics and digital security research, demonstrations of new technical tools and hands-on workshops.
The DRFWS also organises a digital investigation challenge of based on a fictional scenario. Pierre Morlon finished second out of 17 participants, confirming the high level of the staff at the AMSN.
The government has revealed detailed plans for the redevelopment of Larvotto Beach. Among the highlights are year-round beach restaurants thanks to new undercover spaces, a dedicated cycling path, and a new playground for the kids.
Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development, and Jean Castellini, Minister of Finance and Economy, presented the project on Friday 3rd May.
The new Larvotto Beach Resort area will feature contemporary architecture designed by Renzo Piano, including a retractable glass façade open to the sea and dedicated solely to commercial use.
The public area will be expanded to provide more than 15,000 m2 of space on the upper Promenade with shaded areas, beds of trees, a kids playground and a cycle track more than one kilometre long.
The redevelopment will extend out to see also, with the creation of breakwaters between the existing sea walls which will better protect the beach from rough seas.
The project follows Monaco’s commitment to sustainable practices, therefore around 900 m2 of solar panels will be used to produce more than 80% of the energy used by the public lighting system.
There will also be charging stations for electric bicycles, optimised water management, and intelligent waste management will be applied for the shops and services areas.
The upper utility tunnel will be used mainly to house a seawater heat exchanger, which will supply heating and air conditioning for the entire district, including the shops in the beach resort complex.
Work will begin in October with a complete closure of the beach until June 2020. For the summer season of 2020, the beach will re-open temporarily, before closing again in September until June 2021, when the beach and shops will be inaugurated. The entire works are expected to be completed by early 2022.
St Etienne came from behind to beat Monaco 3-2 in Ligue 1 at the Stade Louis II on Sunday, keeping alive their slim hopes of Champions League qualification.
Monaco took the lead inside 20 minutes when forward Gelson Martins brought down a long pass from Jemerson with a superb first touch before firing the ball past Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier.
Despite dominating possession, Etienne struggled to create chances but eventually found a way back into the contest when Monaco full back Fode Ballo-Toure’s miss hit clearance found his own goal.
Winger Remy Cabella struck from close range to give the visitors a 2-1 lead before assisting Arnaud Nordin’s 80th minute header to put the result beyond doubt.
Substitute Carlos Vinicius pulled one back for Monaco but could not prevent their ninth home defeat of the league season.
Monaco, who are without a league win since March, are now just three points clear of the relegation zone, while St Etienne provisionally move to third spot ahead of Olympique Lyonnais on goal difference.
The top three in Ligue 1 qualify for the Champions League, with the third-placed team starting in the third qualifying round of Europe’s elite competition.

The eagerly anticipated drama series L.A.’s Finest starring Gabrielle Union (Bad Boys II) and Jessica Alba (Sin City) will be the opening screening at the 59th Monte Carlo Television Festival, which takes place 14th to 18th June. Laurent Puons, CEO of the Monte Carlo Television Festival, made the announcement during an official presentation at the Monte Carlo Bay on Thursday 2nd May.
With both lead actresses in attendance, the screening of the first episode of L.A.’s Finest will follow a star-studded Red Carpet Opening Ceremony, held in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the festival’s honorary president, on Friday 14th June.
From the universe of the Jerry Bruckheimer (Honorary Golden Nymph 2014) Bad Boys franchise, L.A.’s Finest is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television and 2.0 Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures Television.
The drama follows Sydney “Syd” Burnett (Union), who was last seen in Bad Boys II taking down a drug cartel in Miami. Taking on the most dangerous criminals in Los Angeles while skirting the rules, Syd and McKenna become a force to be reckoned with, on the streets and in each other’s lives.

The students developed the concept as part of the Communal Junior Project (PCJ) in collaboration with the Department of Seniors and Social Action of the City Council.
The first edition of exchanges between the generations 2017-2018 was so successful that it was continued this year by the class of 6th E of the FANB College and history teacher Méryl Fouilleron. The event is aimed at promoting the transmission of knowledge and exchange between generations through themed workshops and games.

Various workshops were organised including sewing and origami, new technologies, culinary exchanges and board games. There were two Zumba sessions, a quiz and a photo booth so everyone could remember the day.
