Hanna Derrien, a long-time member of the Jeune Chambre Économique de Monaco, also known as JCI Monaco, has taken the helm of the inspiring organisation as its new National President for 2025, a year focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and milestone anniversaries.
In early February, Monaco Life attended a press conference at the JCI Monaco headquarters to hear all about the organisation’s plans for the year ahead.
Under the leadership of its new president, Hanna Derrien, who is stepping into the shoes of Clément Maréchal, JCI Monaco is set to heighten its focus on entrepreneurship and innovation.
A long-time member of the organisation, Derrien joined JCI Monaco in 2021 after moving to the Principality. Derrien’s journey within the organisation saw her become a project leader in 2022, before taking on roles on its Executive Board, first as Secretary-General in 2023 and then as Vice-President for Attractiveness in 2024.
“Becoming National President has been my ambition since I joined the movement, but I wanted to do things in the right order, taking the time to understand its structure and workings,” Derrien explained to Monaco Life.
She credited her previous leadership roles within JCI Monaco for equipping her with the necessary experience, saying, “That experience has made me fully aware of the responsibilities and demands of this position, and today, I feel ready to take them on.”
A year marked by milestones
2025 will see two major anniversaries for JCI Monaco: the 30th edition of the Concours de Création d’Entreprise (CCE) and the 10th anniversary of Graine d’Entrepreneur. Both initiatives have significantly contributed to facilitating entrepreneurship in Monaco over the years. As part of the celebrations, JCI Monaco has launched a special communication campaign for the CCE, while Graine d’Entrepreneur will expand its reach from eight to ten schools in the Principality.
Monaco Inspire, an initiative supporting project leaders and startups, will also return for a second edition, while the Pitch Nights will be further strengthened.
“Entrepreneurship remains our priority, and we aim to build on the momentum we’ve established,” Derrien told Monaco Life.
On the professional development front, JCI Monaco will introduce a structured series of training workshops, divided into three thematic cycles: entrepreneurship in Monaco, investor relations and personal development.
“Our training programmes will evolve into thematic workshops structured throughout the year,” Derrien explained.

JCI Monaco’s networking events are also set for a transformation, with a new format for its JCE Connect gatherings.
“We are launching a completely new concept—an essential networking event with a specific theme, designed to encourage exchanges and connections in a prestigious setting,” said Derrien. The first edition of the year, titled Invest Time, will take place on 27th February at the Wine Palace and will focus on key financial and economic trends.
As she embarks on her tenure as President, Derrien is confident in the strength of her team, which includes Lucas Dubois as Vice-President for Entrepreneurship, Deputy President Eloïse Marshall as Vice-President for Attractiveness and Sarah Assayag-Edery as Vice-President for Personal Development.
“I only take on projects that I know I can see through successfully, supported by an efficient organisation and an extremely talented team that I’ve had the privilege of putting together,” she added.
