MEB strengthens Monaco’s global ties at World Chambers Congress in Melbourne

Monaco Economic Board chief Guillaume Rose represented the Principality at the 14th World Chambers Congress in Melbourne from 2nd to 4th September, leveraging the event to expand strategic partnerships and prepare the ground for future economic initiatives.

The Monaco Economic Board (MEB), led by Executive Director General Guillaume Rose, joined more than 1,200 delegates from over a hundred countries at the 14th World Chambers Congress in Melbourne. Held from 2nd to 4th September, the congress offered an exceptional forum for dialogue on themes ranging from ecological transition and artificial intelligence to the evolving role of SMEs.

Targeted discussions pave way for future collaboration

At the Congress, Rose seized the opportunity to conduct numerous bilateral meetings with fellow leaders of Chambers of Commerce. These included representatives from Serbia, Latvia, Qatar, Nigeria, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Canada—host to the next Congress in Toronto in 2027—as well as auxiliary talks with International Chamber of Commerce officials, the event’s organisers.

A message of forward‑looking ambition

Speaking on the sidelines of the congress, Rose remarked that the event had been “a unique chance to strengthen our network, spot new opportunities, and prepare ambitious economic missions for the future.” He said that the MEB stands ready to support Monegasque enterprises in scaling their international ambitions through robust and innovative partnerships.

A welcome visit to diplomatic allies

The visit also included a meeting with Melbourne’s Honorary Consul of Monaco, Andrew Cannon, who—with his collaborator Leanne Steinfort—actively promotes the Principality’s interests in Australia. Their involvement deepens Monaco’s visibility within key economic and political spheres in the region, helping to anchor its presence far beyond European borders.

AS Monaco partners with Riviera brewery Blue Coast to launch VIP pub at Stade Louis-II

AS Monaco has teamed up with local craft brewer Blue Coast to open a new VIP pub inside Stade Louis-II, blending football heritage with Riviera hospitality for the club’s premium clients.

AS Monaco has announced a new partnership with Blue Coast Brewing Company, a craft brewery founded on the French Riviera in 2017, running until 2027. At the heart of the collaboration is the creation of Le Pub by Blue Coast, a hospitality space at Stade Louis-II designed in the spirit of a traditional English pub.

Inauguration during the season opener

The new venue was unveiled on 16th August during AS Monaco’s Ligue 1 match against Le Havre. Since then, the pub has offered the club’s VIP clients and partners an opportunity to enjoy matches in a relaxed setting, featuring generous dishes, local produce and a range of Blue Coast beers. Décor has been carefully chosen to reflect the club’s identity, with historic pennants from European fixtures and iconic photographs celebrating Monaco’s footballing past.

Beyond the pub walls

The partnership also extends across the stadium. Blue Coast will supply its beers to all hospitality lounges at Stade Louis-II for the next two seasons, further embedding the local brand into the matchday experience.

Shared values of authenticity and conviviality

“With Le Pub by Blue Coast, we wanted to create a warm and authentic venue where a passion for sport blends naturally with the experience of tasting our beers,” said Blue Coast CEO Predrag Krupez.

Monaco’s newest cultural and professional association is inviting guests to a vibrant networking evening at Nobu Fairmont Monte Carlo on Wednesday 17th September, with premium Australian wines, gourmet bites and the presence of Lynette Wood, Australian Ambassador to France and Monaco.

The recently formed Australian Association of Monaco is set to host its second major gathering, a networking and dinner event at the renowned Nobu Fairmont Monte Carlo on Wednesday 17th September, in partnership with Club Vivanova. The occasion will welcome H.E. Lynette Wood, Australian Ambassador to France and Monaco, and promises to be an evening of cultural exchange, professional connections and fine dining.

Wine, cuisine and networking in style

From 6pm, guests will enjoy a selection of Nobu’s signature bites, including tuna tacos, crispy pork belly with anti-cucho sauce, edamame and shishito peppers. These will be paired with an open bar of premium Australian wines, including a Woodlands Chardonnay and natural organic vintages from Blind Corner. The private bar setting is designed for intimate networking and discussion, with places limited to 50 attendees. Tickets are priced at €75 per person, while those wishing to extend the evening may opt for the full Omakase Classic Dinner at €175, featuring Nobu’s famed black cod and chef’s sushi selection.

Building connections through culture

The Australian Association of Monaco was launched earlier this year by Judith Hillen and Carolyn Sandoval, with the support of the Australian Ambassador Marie-Pascale Boisson. The initiative is the first of its kind in decades and aims to bring together Australians living in the Principality, as well as those with family, professional or cultural ties to the country. Its founders, both practising solicitors in Monaco, are well-placed to provide advice and community support for newcomers while creating opportunities to celebrate Australian culture.

Growing momentum after a soft launch

The Association’s soft launch took place in June at The Niwaki, where Australian wines were paired with Japanese canapés overlooking Larvotto Beach. The event was met with enthusiasm, signalling a strong appetite for an Australian social and cultural hub in Monaco. With plans already underway for future gatherings, including Australia Day and Anzac Day celebrations, the Association is shaping up to be a dynamic new player in Monaco’s international community.

Prince Albert II visits Roquefort-les-Pins to mark historic Grimaldi links

Prince Albert II travelled to Roquefort-les-Pins in the Alpes-Maritimes on 9th September to commemorate centuries-old ties between the commune and the Grimaldi family.

The Prince was welcomed by Mayor Michel Rossi at 11am outside the town’s hall. The visit marked the formal recognition of Roquefort-les-Pins as part of the ‘Grimaldi Historical Sites of Monaco’ network, with both leaders unveiling a commemorative plaque before addressing local residents.

The historical connection dates back to the 18th century, when two members of the Grimaldi family served as governors of nearby Saint-Paul. At that time, Saint-Paul’s territory extended to include what are now the separate communes of La Colle-sur-Loup and Roquefort-les-Pins.

Prince Albert II, who regularly visits territories with historical links to the principality, also toured the village’s new medical centre during his visit. The facility, which will open in October, represents a significant investment by the local authority to improve healthcare services in the area.

The medical centre will house neatly 17 general practitioners and specialists, as well as a medical imaging centre. Dominique Estrosi-Sassone, senator of the Alpes-Maritimes wrote in a tweet on X that the facility was designed to strengthen medical provision both within the municipality and surrounding areas, addressing current healthcare shortages.

Following the formal ceremonies, Prince Albert II spent time meeting and speaking with local residents.

Open call for wildlife conflict solutions in France

The Human-Wildlife Initiative (IHF) has opened applications for its 2025 grand programme, offering up to €50,000 to support innovative projects aimed at improving coexistence between wildlife and human activities across metropolitan France.

The initiative is seeking concrete solutions to address growing challenges posed by wildlife populations, including wolves, bears, lynx, deer, wild boar, and birds of prey, which increasingly come into contact with human activities.

The programme targets four key areas where human-wildlife conflict is most prominent. Agriculture remains the primary focus, with grants available for projects that adapt farming practices to protect livestock and crops. The initiative particularly welcomes pilot projects that demonstrate effective strategies and foster collaboration between farmers and conservationists.

Ecological corridors represent another priority, with funding available for projects that identify and maintain wildlife movement routes while reducing habitat fragmentation. The programme encourages integration of these corridors into local land-use planning.

Outdoor sports compatibility is also targeted, with grants supporting projects that promote harmony between nature-based sports and wildlife conservation through adapted practices and public awareness campaigns.

Lastly, education and awareness initiatives round out the programme, with funding for campaigns, workshops, demonstrations, and expert conferences designed to build public understanding and acceptance of coexistence measures.

Two funding levels available

Applicants can choose between two funding levels: smaller projects with budgets up to €15,000 can apply through the DC1 application form, while larger initiatives with budgets up to €50,000 may apply via the DC2 route. However, DC2 projects must secure 40% co-financing from other sources.

Additionally, all projects must begin in the first quarter of 2026.

The Human-Wildlife Initiative operates under the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and represents a significant funding opportunity for practical wildlife coexistence projects in Metropolitan France.

All interested organisation and individuals must submit their application forms and budget tables by October 16th to ihf@fpa2.org. The application form is available on the initiative’s website
