Reflecting on the game, Matthew Strazel said, “The notable difference between the first and second half was our defence. We conceded 46 points, then 24. The game was decided there. We need to stabilise and stop playing inconsistently. The president’s words reflected that. We made a misstep in the Leaders Cup, so we want to take this Coupe de France.”
Head Coach Vassilis Spanoulis remarked on the team’s resilience, saying, “We played a serious game, which was what was needed after the big disappointment of the Leaders Cup. We put in the right ingredients. Tonight, we saw the face of a team determined to achieve its goal.”
Loyd was the game’s top scorer with 23 points, followed by Strazel with 18 and Mike James with 14. Monaco now turn their attention back to the EuroLeague, preparing for a tough away fixture against Milan on 27th February.
