Flamboyant businessman Flavio Briatore believes he is doing Monaco a favour by opening the upmarket patisserie Cova on blvd. des Moulins. Opening at number 19 on the busy shopping street, the only Cova outside Italy is a joint project between Briatore and LVMH, the luxury goods group.
Briatore said on Monday, September 4, that the opening has been delayed because of the need for extensive work at the building, which he described as dilapidated.
With room for 60 covers over 200 square metres the new addition to the street, which “needs it,” according to Briatore. He said that there were only real estate agents on the street.
Among Cova’s specialities will be that Milanese favourite, panettone. Among Briatore’s other businesses in Monaco are the nightclub Twiga and the restaurant Cipriani, both undoubted successes.
