easyJet announces new Nice-Strasbourg flight in time for Christmas

If you’ve ever dreamed of exploring Strasbourg’s famous Christkindelsmärik market or enjoying a hearty meal of Alsatian cuisine in a medieval tavern by the riverside, visiting this regional capital in northerneastern France just got easier thanks to a new easyJet connection between Nice and the city.

It was announced earlier this month that low-cost airline easyJet will operate a new direct flight from Nice Côte d’Azur Airport to the Strasbourg Entzheim airport from November until March.

The news is well-timed as the city will soon begin preparations for its celebrated Christkindelsmärik market, which takes over central Strasbourg for a full month in the lead-up to Christmas.

Every year, an estimated two million visitors come to see the market, which is reputed to be one of the oldest markets in Europe, having begun in 1570, and enjoy all the sights, sounds and smells of this major festive event.

There will be a flight with easyJet five days a week, running every day except for Tuesday and Saturday. The flight takes around an hour and 10 minutes, and the average price of a one-way ticket is €66.
