La Douleur (The Pain) is Marguerite Duras’s autobiographical account, of the terrible fear, despair and shame of living while waiting for the return of her husband who had been deported to a German concentration camp. Directed by Patrice Chéreau and Thierry Thieû Niang, and starring Dominique Blanc, member of the Comédie-Française.
Hector Berlioz’s The Damnation of Faust is coming to the stage with Aude Extrémo, Pene Pati, Nicolas Courjal, Frédéric Caton, the Chorus of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, the Rainier III Academy of Music Children’s Choir and the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra. The event will be conducted by Kazuki Yamada.
