Forty new models are to be presented at the Monaco Yacht Show next month in a world debut alongside hundreds of superyachts vying for attention as they park tightly on the postcard-perfect Port Hercules, prestigeonline.com reports.

Taking place from September 26 to 29 on Port Hercule, the show will host 580 exhibitors and 120 superyachts in about 9,000 square metres of exhibition space.

This year will see a new layout. The Quai des Etats-Unis, which accommodated a variety of other yachting-related companies in the past, will now be dedicated to naval architects, shipyards and brokers, right next to their yachts on display in the water.

About 60 of the yachts to be exhibited are less than two years old, according to Gaëlle Tallarida, general manager of the Monaco Yacht Show.

A new exhibition area, launched just last year, is devoted entirely to yacht tenders and the trendiest water toys on the market. This year, the display will occupy a bigger space as it takes on three times more exhibitors, where yacht owners and future clients will be able to choose their tenders from among a variety of products.

Taking place on September 26 to coincide with the Monaco Yacht Show, the Monte Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean will return after a successful star-studded first run in 2017. The 2018 Gala will welcome many familiar faces including Orlando Bloom, Hugh Grant, Pierce Brosnan, Goldie Hawn and Madonna. Last year’s biggest VIP was the conservation enthusiast Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Gala supports the work of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, which funds marine conservation projects and schemes to help fight plastic pollution.
