Not only has the football pitch at Stade Louis II undergone a complete renovation over the summer, but also the basketball court, the Salle Omnisports Gaston Médecin, home to Monaco’s successful Roca Boys team. The renovation started at the end of July and comes to an end this week.
The objective was to ensure that the playing area conforms to the standards of the National Basketball League. The varnish has to be composed of two distinct shades, one for the two-point shooting zone, the other for the three-point shooting zone.
The perimeter of the field has been repainted red, identical to the existing, to retain the graphic identity of the club. The new floor will be ready for the resumption of the Jeep Elite Basketball Championship, with Monaco playing Lyon-Villeurbanne, on September 22.
