French voters in Monaco will have another opportunity to vote for a member of the National Assembly following the cancellation of the 2017 election for the fifth constituency representing French citizens living outside France.

The election will be held on April 8. The fifth constituency includes those living in Spain, Portugal and Andorra as well as Monaco.

The original vote, held on June 18 last year, was annulled because the difference in number of votes cast for the candidates who came second and third was considered to be too small.

In Monaco, only 15 percent of those eligible actually voted. Voting will take place at the French Embassy in Monaco on Sunday, April 8, followed by the second round on April 22.
