The Principality’s August calendar features a busy schedule of major sporting events, open-air concerts, and family-friendly activities.

The headline event is the Grand Départ of La Vuelta 2026. From 20th to 23rd August, Monaco plays host to the opening stages of the prestigious cycling tour, adding to its history of hosting the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France. The festivities begin on Thursday 20th August with the official team presentation. Action gets underway on Saturday 22nd August with an individual time trial past Monaco’s most famous attractions. On Sunday 23rd August, riders depart from the Prince’s Palace Square, with the official race start heading into France near the Exotic Garden.

Football also returns to the Stade Louis II. AS Monaco plays a blockbuster Ligue 1 clash against Olympique de Marseille on Sunday 30th August.

Family fun and summer activities

For history and sightseeing, the ‘Au cœur de Monaco’ guided tours run every Wednesday until 19th August, focusing on Monte-Carlo and Mareterra on 12th and 19th August.

Families can also enjoy open-air games, trampolines, and activities along the coast at Larvotto until Sunday 16th August.

Concerts and cultural highlights

At the Grimaldi Forum, the summer exhibition ‘Monaco and the Automobile, from 1893 to the present day’ runs until Sunday 6th September, featuring over 50 classic cars and rare archives.

The Monte-Carlo Summer Festival at the Salle des Étoiles wraps up its 2026 run with concerts by Lisa Stansfield on Tuesday 11th August, and Laura Pausini on Saturday 15th August.

Plus, free Soirées Musicales open-air concerts keep the evenings lively between Larvotto and Square Gastaud until Wednesday 19th August.
