Ludovic Giuly, a former AS Monaco captain, will serve as an ambassador for the club, the club said on Monday, August 21. Giuly will represent the current French champions at official events and will also work with the club’s youth academy.
The 41-year-old was capped 17 times by France and won the French title with Monaco in 2000. He captained the side that lost to Porto Champions League final in 2004.
Moving to Barcelona that year he helped the club win the Champions League in 2006. After playing with Roma and Paris Saint-Germain, he came back to Monaco for a season in 2011/12 in the second tier.
He has always enjoyed considerable popularity in Monaco.
