Halloween in Monaco: the ultimate guide to what’s on this October

From witchcraft and wizardry to trick-or-treating, themed dining and Halloween parties, Monaco is preparing for a month of spooky celebrations across the Principality.

Whether you’re looking for something family-friendly, a night out, or an excuse to dress up, Monaco Life has has put together a rundown of local events taking place this October.

The Mairie de Monaco will once again bring Halloween to Parc Princesse Antoinette with an afternoon of activities on 31st October from 2pm to 5:30pm. Young guests can experience face painting, a treasure hunt, magic potion making, and plenty of sweets for the occasion. A special Halloween-themed show will take place at the park’s upper entrance.

Activities are reserved for children aged four and over who live or attend school in Monaco.

ENTER THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER WITH THE MONTE-CARLO PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

For a magical take on the holiday, the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra invites guests to the Auditorium Rainier III for a Harry Potter-themed concert on Saturday 31 October at 3pm.

The hour-long concert will teleport guests into a world of witchcraft and wizardry, with costumes encouraged for the occasion, Harry Potter-themed or otherwise. There will also be a candy giveaway at the end of the show. Tickets for the event are €10 and are available through Monte-Carlo Ticket.

HALLOWEEN TAKEOVER WITH MONTE-CARLO SBM

Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) is bringing Halloween to its hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues this year.

Place du Casino will welcome a special group of visitors from 17th October to 1st November, as the Montecadabra fictional family resides in a six-metre-high wizard’s manor. Visitors can watch magical experiments unfold through the windows, while decorations transform the surrounding area.

Families will also be able to trick-or-treat through participating SBM hotels from 25th October to 1st November, while the Kids Room at Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo will welcome children aged three to twelve staying at the hotel for creative workshops from 17th October to 2nd November.

New Moods will begin its celebrations with two Halloween parties on 28th October. The first, ‘Halloween Magic’, will welcome children aged four to seven from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. The event will feature a magic show, face painting, a temporary tattoo stand, creative workshops, and a magic potion fountain alongside a selection of sweets. From 6pm to 9pm, children aged eight to twelve can join the ‘Halloween Bash’, featuring a DJ, dancing, a buffet, and a soda bar. Both events cost €65 per child, with accompanying adults admitted for free.

Dining experiences will also get a Halloween makeover as Café de Paris Monte-Carlo will host an autumn lunch on 31st October, where children can arrive in costume and enjoy face painting, Halloween decorations, and sweets. Mareterra’s newer dining destination, Marlow, will host Halloween-themed brunches on 31st October and 1st November from 11:30am to 3:30pm, with pastries, face painting, and a candy giveaway on Sunday.

For those with a sweet tooth, Cédric Grolet Monte-Carlo will offer a special pumpkin-inspired pastry from 31st October to 1st November, while Gustave at Hôtel Hermitage will serve ‘Blood & Bubbles’ cocktails from 26th October to 1st November.

Celebrations will continue beyond Halloween night at Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, which will host a family brunch in its Calypso area on 1st November featuring magic, face painting, entertainment, and sweets.

BUDDHALLOWEEN RETURNS TO BUDDHA-BAR

Buddha-Bar Monte-Carlo will celebrate the season from 28th to 31st October, transforming its interior with green-and-pink pop-art. Carved pumpkins and Halloween décor will complement Asian-inspired creations from chef Eric Guillemaud, with a special Buddhalloween evening on the 31st, where costumes are encouraged.

DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS ARRIVES IN MONACO

Mexico’s Día de los Muertos tradition will also be celebrated at Le Bar Américain and Anahi. Anahi will feature Día de los Muertos-themed décor from 29th October to 1st November, while Le Bar Américain at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo will dedicate 31st October to a tribute to the celebration, with a DJ, dancers, and makeup artists.

HALLOWEEN TAKES TO THE STAGE

Children and teens can spend the week leading up to Halloween getting creative at Théâtre des Muses, which will host workshops from 26th to 30th October. Split into groups for children aged six to eight and nine to fourteen, the workshops will combine costumes, games, improvisation, and imagination before finishing with a final performance.

BEYOND THE BORDER

The celebrations extend beyond the border of the Principality with ‘Halloween: Terreur sur Charlot’ in Beausoleil from 28th to 31st October. Village Charlot and the Centre Culturel Prince Jacques will host activities beginning with a costume swap on 28th October, giving families the opportunity to exchange outfits and accessories for a cost-free Halloween costume.

The programme continues on 30th October with a giant werewolf game and a creative workshop for children and teenagers from 2 to 4pm. The celebrations conclude on 31st October with a Halloween party and a line-up of activities.

A HALLOWEEN-THEMED TATTOO EXPO

Further beyond the border, the Menton Tattoo Expo will return from 31st October to 2nd November with a Halloween theme. The three-day convention brings together tattoo artists and enthusiasts while giving this year’s edition a Halloween twist.

MORE ANNOUNCEMENTS STILL TO COME

With several weeks to go before Halloween, Monaco’s programme is unlikely to be fully revealed just yet. Further decorations are expected to appear across the Principality, while nightlife hotspots including Twiga and Jimmy’z could still announce their own celebrations.

As 31st October draws closer, one thing is clear: there will be no shortage of ways to celebrate Halloween in the Principality.
