La Note Bleue, the live music venue and restaurant on Larvotto Beach, will host JB Moundele and a trio of musicians from across the Riviera for a night of jazz and African-inspired rhythms in mid-November.
At 8pm on Wednesday 13th November, JB Moundele and three fellow musicians will be performing tracks from the saxophonist’s Afrotrane project, which is a blend of traditional African music and John Coltrane-inspired jazz.
Moundele, who has roots in the south of France and the Ivory Coast, has enjoyed a long career that includes over 20 years with Tiken Jah Fakoly, a prominent figure in reggae music. He will be joined at La Note Bleue by Robert Persi on piano, Jean-Marc Jafet on bass and Jean-Luc Dana on drums and percussion.
Afrotrane reflects Moundele’s diverse musical influences and showcases a synthesis of African traditions and jazz improvisation that resonates with audiences familiar with both genres.
