Fresh from their first official visit in March, a delegation from the Macao Special Administrative Region of China returned to the Principality on 28th April to attend the Monaco Clean Fusion Forum and engage in strategic meetings with local leaders in science, technology, and sustainability.
The visit was anchored by the Monaco Clean Fusion Forum, held at the Yacht Club de Monaco under the High Patronage of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. The forum, dedicated to pioneering sustainable energy solutions, provided an ideal platform to deepen cooperation between the two regions.
On the sidelines of the event, Monaco’s Ambassador to China, Marie-Pascale Boisson, hosted a bilateral meeting between the Macao delegation and key figures from Monaco’s innovation and economic sectors.
Innovation, sustainability and shared priorities
Representatives from MonacoTech, the Monaco Economic Board, the Centre Scientifique de Monaco, the Chamber of Renewable Energies and Ecology of Monaco, and Aton Green Monaco joined the discussions. The exchange focused on Monaco’s expertise in emerging technologies and innovative solutions, particularly in energy production and storage, as well as environmental health research.
The Macao delegation, led by Secretary for Economy and Finance Tai Kin Ip, included senior officials from Macao’s science and economic development agencies. Their visit highlighted a growing interest in Monaco’s model for sustainable, innovation-driven growth.
Strengthening ties through shared vision
This second official visit marks a continued commitment to strengthening cooperation between Monaco and Macao in areas of mutual interest. As both regions prioritise the ecological transition and advanced research, the dialogue set the stage for future collaboration and knowledge sharing.
