The national day of homage to the 86 victims of the Bastille Day atrocity in Nice has been postponed until Saturday, due to bad weather. The event had been originally planned for Friday, October 14, three months to the day after the terror attack on the Promenade des Anglais.
Christian Estrosi, president of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolitan area, was informed of the postponement by a telephone call from President Hollande during a meeting of the municipal council on Thursday morning. Delayed by 24 hours, the ceremony will now take place on the hill at the Château, overlooking the Promenade des Anglais, starting at 11 am.
A charity sale (view catalogue), with proceeds to be donated to the victims and families of the July 14 attack, has been organised by the auction house 4-Auction on Sunday, October 16 at 2 pm and will take place at the Palais de la Mediterranean in Nice. view catalogue can be viewed here.
