Michael Douglas to receive Prince Rainier III Award at 40th Princess Grace Awards Gala

This October, the Princess Grace Foundation USA will mark its 40th anniversary with a grand gala at The Pierre in New York City, where acclaimed actor and philanthropist Michael Douglas will be honoured with the Prince Rainier III Award. This prestigious award, presented by Prince Albert II of Monaco, celebrates Douglas’ extraordinary contributions to the arts and his long-standing dedication to charitable causes.

Reflecting on the significance of the award, Douglas said, “It’s an incredible honour to receive the Prince Rainier III Award. Grace Kelly was a Hollywood icon, and learning about her friendship with my father makes this moment even more special.”

The Prince Rainier III Award, created in 2005, also includes a $25,000 grant to a charity chosen by the recipient. The Hollywood star will direct the funds to The Douglas Foundation, which is dedicated to providing more equitable access to education, healthcare, and the arts.

Prince Albert II will acknowledge Douglas’ philanthropic work, noting, “Michael Douglas and his family’s commitment to helping others reflects our own values of service and giving.”

The gala will be held on October 23rd and also shine a light on the Princess Grace Foundation’s mission to support emerging talent in theatre, dance, and film, continuing its legacy of awarding over $19 million in grants since its founding.
