Didier Gamerdinger, Government Minister for Social Affairs and Health, recently visited the Hospital de la Palmosa in Menton, accompanied by Patrick Bini, Director of the Princess Grace Hospital (CHPG). They were welcomed by Mr. Jean-Claude Guibal, Mayor of Menton and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Centre Hospitalier Mentonnais and Mr. Franck Pouilly, Director of the Hospital de la Palmosa.

One out of every two people in Menton’s working population works in the Principality, and many Mentonnais are affiliated to the Monegasque social security system.

The CHPG and the La Palmosa Hospital Centre are together building an SSR (Rehabilitation and Continuing Care) structure, with Monaco contributing to its financing.

This partnership will help meet the needs of patients in the area, ranging from Monaco and neighbouring communes to Menton and its hinterland, helping patients hospitalised at the CHPG and in need of convalescence and rehabilitation. The arrangement with the hospital in Menton will allow patients to be closer to home and family and help in the process of being released from full-time care.
