The 10th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Monaco and Cuba was celebrated in Paris on December 15 at the Monegasque Chancellery.
Surrounded by their respective diplomats, His Excellency Claude Cottalorda, Ambassador of the Principality of Monaco in France, and HE Elio Eduardo Rodriguez Perdomo, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in France, celebrated the event in a warm and convivial atmosphere.
Mr Cottalorda recalled the historic ties of friendship between the two countries and pointed out that the theme of the 2016 Rose Ball was that of Cuban culture in general and Havana in particular.
The Ambassador underlined the common challenges faced by the two states, particularly in the face of climate change, and hoped that the fight for the preservation of the oceans would become an axis of cooperation between the two countries.
Mr Perdomo, for his part, referred to the private visit of His Excellency Prince Albert to Cuba in 2001 and highlighted the opportunities for developing bilateral economic and sports relations.
The reception continued with Cuban musicians. Guests enjoyed Monegasque specialties and mojitos and shared a pleasant moment to perpetuate the excellence of relations between the two countries.
The Principality of Monaco and the Republic of Cuba established Diplomatic Relations on December 19, 2007, with a joint declaration.
