An important conference in Paris brought together all the UNESCO Member States and key partners in the sports movement, including the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the Council of Europe, to oversee the implementation and monitoring of the Convention.

Led by Mrs Yvette Lambin Berti, Ambassador, Permanent Delegate of Monaco to UNESCO, a Monegasque Delegation, composed of Mr Philippe Orengo, President of the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee, Dr Jack Michel, Scientific Member of the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee and Ms Sybille Projetti, Second Secretary, took part in the 6th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the International Convention against Doping in Sport of UNESCO, held on September 25 and 26, at the Headquarters of the Organisation.

In order to meet the growing challenges related to the issue of doping in sport, the 2017 edition of the Conference focused on strengthening the implementation of the Convention and strengthening the Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport. Monaco, one of the first ten States Parties, has contributed regularly to the Fund, in order to participate in the financing of projects in three priority areas: education, support for anti-doping policy formulation and the development of the capacities of the Member States.
