HSH Prince Albert will leave on an official visit to China from September 5 to 8 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Travelling with the Sovereign Prince will be a business delegation from the Monaco Economic Board. Among the planned events over the three days, Prince Albert will be inaugurating the Princes and Princesses of Monaco exhibition at the Forbidden City in Beijing.
China and Monaco established consular relations in January 1995 and upgraded their diplomatic ties to the ambassadorial level in February 2006.
The MEB said it views the visit as an “opportunity to take advantage of this exceptional event to develop business opportunities in China.”
The MEB is planning a visit to Hanoi, Vietnam, in November, also to coincide with an official visit by the Prince.
