In a weekend full of sporting triumphs, Monaco celebrated victories in both basketball and football while Max Verstappen added to his remarkable Formula 1 season with another win at the Qatar Grand Prix.

Monaco’s sports scene continues to shine, with AS Monaco setting the pace in both basketball and football, while Max Verstappen, a Monaco resident, maintains his exceptional form in Formula 1, making headlines on the global stage.

AS Monaco dominates the basketball court

AS Monaco continued its impressive run in Betclic Elite basketball with a thrilling win against Cholet on Sunday 8thOctober. Mike James, the star of the match, came alive in the final minutes to secure the victory with a score of 75-69. Despite a mediocre performance in terms of shooting percentages, AS Monaco’s last-minute surge sealed the deal, leaving Cholet to their first defeat of the season.

Football glory: AS Monaco tops Ligue 1

AS Monaco secured a crucial win against Stade de Reims, propelling them to the top of Ligue 1. The match was an intense showdown that saw AS Monaco defeating the opposition with a final score of 3-1. Outstanding goal-scoring performance paved the way for the Rouge et Blanc to clinch victory ahead of the international break.

Verstappen’s triple triumph: Qatar GP win

Max Verstappen, the newly crowned three-time Formula 1 world champion, showcased his dominance once again at the Qatar Grand Prix 2023. In a relentless and often chaotic race, Verstappen secured his 14th win of the season. This win, along with securing pole position and recording the fastest lap, constituted a remarkable triple success to conclude his exceptional title-winning season.

Monegasque Charles Leclerc came in fifth place for Ferrari.
