Young artists and aspiring engineers in Monaco and the Alpes-Maritimes have been invited to envision the lunar vehicle of the future as part of an exciting art competition launched by Top Marques Monaco.
The contest, organised in collaboration with the Monaco Education Department, is one of several special events marking the 20th anniversary of Top Marques, the prestigious luxury automobile show taking place at the Grimaldi Forum from 7th to 11th May 2025.
Participants will be challenged to create designs for a space vehicle adapted to the extreme conditions of the Moon, where petrol stations are non-existent and the terrain is far more rugged than the smooth streets of the Principality. The initiative takes inspiration from the FLEX lunar rover, developed by Monaco-based Venturi Space, which is set to land on the Moon in 2026.
“Today, many questions are being raised about how we can evolve with vehicles that will take us to new horizons,” say the organisers of Top Marques Monaco. “We are asking the children of Monaco and the Alpes-Maritimes to propose their own designs, as we are confident that their ideas will be both innovative and inspiring.”
Entrants will compete in two age categories: one for students in CE2 to CM2 and another for those in 6ème to 3ème. The winner will receive a unique opportunity to visit the Venturi Space showroom and explore the pioneering technology behind the FLEX rover.
The competition forms part of a dynamic schedule for this year’s Top Marques event, which will showcase an impressive selection of luxury supercars, rare classic models, and high-end watches and jewellery. A retrospective exhibition celebrating the history of the show, along with the annual Carspotters Award, promises to engage visitors of all ages.
Entries for the art contest must be submitted by 18 April 2025. Further details, including submission guidelines, can be found on the Top Marques Monaco website.
