Monaco takes centre stage in Bad Bunny’s new hit music video

Global superstar Bad Bunny may have singlehandedly made Monaco “cool” again thanks to his latest hit music video, ‘Monaco’, with a cameo appearance by Hollywood legend Al Pacino.

The video, which was directed by Stillz, has garnered an impressive 10 million views in just two days. The video starts off in New York City’s most famous restaurant, Carbone, where Bad Bunny meets Al Pacino. As the Puerto Rican sensation traps his audience with catchy beats, Monaco’s iconic local spots, including the Monte-Carlo Casino and the famous Fairmont Hairpin, make an appearance.

Who is Bad Bunny?

Bad Bunny has achieved remarkable success in the music industry. As a Puerto Rican superstar, he has consistently pushed boundaries and captivated audiences worldwide with his distinctive blend of Latino beats and contemporary rhythms. Over the years, he has accumulated numerous achievements, including three Grammy Awards and nine Latin Grammy Awards.

His latest album, ‘Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana,’ (no one knows what will happen tomorrow), which ‘Monaco’ is a part of, was released on 13th October and marked a groundbreaking moment in his career.

The album debuted with a staggering 145.9 million streams on its first day, making it the biggest debut of 2023 and the most impressive debut for a Latin album in Spotify’s history, according to BNN Network.

Monaco is cool again

The song’s lyrics, mixed with Bad Bunny’s distinctive style, merges music and motorsports. In the chorus, he effortlessly raps a clever reference to Formula 1 drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez, which adds a contemporary twist to the song, with Checo making a cameo appearance in the video and Bad Bunny trying on Verstappen’s racing helmet.

Bad Bunny’s luxurious lifestyle is vividly portrayed in the video, with scenes featuring stunning women, extravagant yachts, and fine dining all against the backdrop of the Monaco coastline.

When the music video ends at the five-minute-mark, viewers are taken “behind the scenes” to show how many of the Tik Tok-style shots of Monaco were taken, juming between yachts, the Casino, the Monaco Grand Prix, and a luxurious private villa.

The video’s crown moment comes at the end when viewers are transported back to Carbone, as legendary actor Al Pacino engages in a heartfelt conversation with the musician. In a moment of admiration, Pacino says, “You are doing great. You really are doing great. You’re charging it up, and I’m enjoying it.” Bad Bunny’s response is simple yet powerful, “That’s what I’m doing, just enjoying life.”

Monaco’s presence in this music video not only highlights the allure of the Principality but also showcases its significance as a global destination for music, entertainment, and luxury living.
