With retro music, pétanque and a range of classic dishes, the Apéro des Frenchy soirée at the Condamine market is hoping to replicate the family-friendly nature of that favourite French tradition, the apéritif, at its Bastille Day celebrations.
On Saturday 14th July, the Marché de la Condamine will host a huge apéro-style event honouring France’s National Day, a date that marks the famous Storming of the Bastille in Paris during the French Revolution in 1789.
The party will get going from 6pm, with music from a local band and al fresco games of pétanque on the temporary courts that will be set up in the square.
The entertainment is expected to perform a range of the biggest French hits from the 1950s through to the 1990s, so be sure to bring your dancing shoes and dust off your best French singing voice before coming.
The event will wind down at 10pm.
Tickets to the event cost €8, but the food and beverages served at the party will come at an extra fee. Entrance is free for under 12s.
