Monaco urges vulnerable groups to get vaccinated ahead of flu and Covid season

With summer now over and people turning to indoor pursuits, the chance of catching a virus is once again on the rise. So, the Monaco government has launched a new flu and Covid vaccination campaign aimed at the vulnerable. Here’s where you can go to get your jabs.

The Department of Social Affairs and Health is reminding Monegasques, residents and social security beneficiaries in Monaco about the importance of getting vaccinated against seasonal flu and Covid-19, especially for those at higher risk of severe illness.

This joint vaccination campaign targets people aged 65 and over, those under 65 with certain chronic conditions, pregnant women, people with obesity, and anyone staying in a follow-up care or medico-social facility, regardless of age.

Vaccines adapted to the current strains are already available in Monaco’s pharmacies, with or without a prescription. You can get vaccinated directly at the pharmacy or pick up the vaccine and visit your GP.

Both vaccinations—flu and Covid-19—can be administered at the same time, using different injection sites, or spaced out without needing to wait between doses. It’s important not to delay, as the vaccines take a few days to offer full protection. The aim is for those who most need them to be vaccinated before the epidemic season gets in full swing.
