On Friday, September 1, more than a thousand Monegasques of all generations gathered around the Princely Couple for the traditional “Cavagnëtu”, the Monegasque picnic, at Parc Princesse Antoinette.

An aperitif was served around the socca ovens and the stands of local culinary specialties, including pies, pissaladière, and Monégasque fougasse. The picnic continued until late in the evening under the olive trees of the.

Guests were also able to enjoy the bars, barbecues, ice creams and other delicacies offered by the Town Hall in order to fill the “cavagnëtu” picnic basket that some had brought for the occasion.
