During the Monaco Yacht Show, held last month at Port Hercule in Monaco, Prince Albert II accepted a €55,000 donation aboard the 67-metre superyacht Dagger, reinforcing a marine conservation partnership established with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation in 2010.
The contribution was formally handed over by Toby Moore, CEO of Informa Prestige, and Stephen Carter, CEO of Informa Group, alongside Romain Ottavj, financial administrator of the Foundation.
“Supporting the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation is a commitment we proudly renew every year,” said Toby Moore. “As organisers, we have a responsibility to make the Monaco Yacht Show a platform for companies that are truly driving environmental progress in our industry. Prince Albert’s presence today serves as a powerful reminder of why this work is essential.”
Sustainability framework and innovation
The Prince’s official tour of the exhibition included a demonstration of the Sea Indexing tool by Italian shipbuilder Azimut-Benetti, a carbon-tracking metric designed to measure and reduce fleet emissions. These technical presentations form part of the exhibition’s broader environmental framework, which has evolved since 2005 to incorporate the dedicated Sustainability Hub and the Blue Wake Awards for eco-friendly maritime engineering.
International maritime collaboration
Alongside environmental programming, the exhibition hosted institutional agreements aimed at expanding global yachting infrastructure. A formal Memorandum of Understanding was concluded between Sela and Tahaluf to establish the Red Sea Yacht Show at the Jeddah Yacht Club. Signed in the presence of Prince Albert II, Lord Stephen Carter, Mike Champion, and Amer Daggag, the initiative seeks to position the Red Sea as a major winter yachting corridor with institutional alignment from Monaco.
