New Director of Public Works appointed

Jean-Luc Nguyen has been appointed Director of Public Works. He will also retain the Directorate of the “Mission for Urbanisation at Sea” in charge of the Portier Cove land reclamation project.

Mr Nguyen succeeds Olivier Lavagna, who has joined the management of the Monaco Ports Operating Company (SEPM).

Born in 1965, Jean-Luc Nguyen is an engineer, having graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées. He also holds an MBA from the College of Engineers.

During his career he has held positions in the public service as well as in the private sector. He worked for the French Ministry of Equipment as district manager in Calais, then at the Public Establishment of the new city of Cergy-Pontoise.

He later managed several subsidiaries of the Nexity Group, one of the French leaders in real estate development, and headed the branch devoted to urban planning, environment and energy for the engineering group Setec.
