Nice Côte d’Azur Airport launches daily flight to Philadelphia

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport has welcomed the first of its new daily and direct flights from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s largest city and the hometown of Grace Kelly, the American actress who would go on to become Princess Grace of Monaco through her marriage to Prince Rainier III.

There have never been more options available to passengers travelling from the USA to the Côte d’Azur.

As of 7th May, the Pennsylvanian city of Philadelphia has become the latest long-haul destination in the USA to benefit from a daily direct connection with Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, expanding a growing list of North American destinations already served by the travel hub.

“We warmly thank American Airlines for its trust and for this new route to the United States operated directly, synonymous with saving time and lower emissions,” says Franck Goldnadel, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur. “It demonstrates the growing attractiveness of our territory among Americans, more and more of whom [come] to the Côte d’Azur every year, and responds to our desire to always better connect our territory to major cities around the world.”

As an American Airlines hub, Philadelphia is not just a one-stop destination, but a great jumping off point for the 140 other cities and airports it services.

“We are delighted to officially start the summer season in Europe with the launch of our new Nice-Philadelphia service,” says José Freig, American Airlines Vice President of International Operations. “Our daily flight to the French Riviera offers our guests a new opportunity to experience the azure waters, gastronomy and rich culture that the French Riviera offers. We therefore look forward to working alongside our partners at Nice Airport to further enrich their experience in the south of France.”

Other North American cities accessible directly from Nice include Atlanta, New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, Newark and Montréal in Canada.

Flights to Philadelphia will be operated daily until 6th October.
