According to a number of Orthodox Christian websites, eastern Orthodoxy has become the second most important religion in Monaco, having nudged aside Protestantism.
In response to the growing numbers of Russians living in the Principality, the community has been holding religious services in temporary premises, journeytoorthodoxy.com reported.
According to the last official survey, carried out in 2012, Catholicism remains dominant and is the official religion of Monaco.
A number of events have been held by the eastern Orthodox community over the past 12 months, including a marking of the centenary of the murder of the last Tsar and his family at Yekaterinburg on July 16,1918.
