Under the patronage of Prince Albert II, supporters of Israel’s Sheba Medical Center gathered at the Yacht Club de Monaco on 26th July for the annual ‘Drink, Dance & Donate’ charity gala.
The evening raised over €650,000 through a charity auction and direct donations to support the medical centre’s global humanitarian efforts.
Healing without borders
Sheba Medical Center operates on the core principle of ‘Peace Through Medicine’, bringing people together to provide healthcare across borders. The funds raised at the Monaco gala will directly support free medical care for children and help finance global relief missions. Operating on a campus roughly half the size of Monaco, the hospital offers top-tier medical treatment to every patient, regardless of nationality, race, or religion.
A gathering of global philanthropists
Professor Itai M. Pessach, Associate Director of Sheba Medical Center and CEO of Sheba Children’s Hospital, welcomed an assembly of around 180 guests alongside event hosts Dorit and Marc Assaraf, and co-sponsors Doctor Yana and Doctor Karl Hauptmann.
The room reflected a true cross-section of global industry, arts, and society. Notable international figures in attendance included Chella Safra, Treasurer of the World Jewish Congress; Lady Monika Bacardi; artist Stefan Szczesny; World Club Dome founder Bernd Breiter; Lord Peter and Lady Joy Goldsmith; and long-standing gala organiser Annette Zierer, alongside prominent leaders from the worlds of luxury real estate, finance, and European society.
High-end entertainment and exclusive auctioning
The evening’s artistic programme featured performances by acclaimed Israeli vocalist Riki Ben-Ari and Italian singer Arianne Bianchi, guided by ARD Berlin correspondent Ilanit Spinner as master of ceremonies.
London-based auction specialist Kevin Durham led the live sale, which featured prized works of art by Stefan Szczesny, luxury holiday packages donated by 7Pines Resort Ibiza General Manager Bardia Torabi, fine jewellery pieces by Thomas Jirgens and Yana Gadner of Wiener Juwelen Gadner, and private flight packages contributed by Vladislav Shashkov of RSV Private Jets.
All the money raised will go straight toward children’s medical care and hospital equipment.
