Paramount’s Dan Cohen among top industry names to feature at MCTF Business Content forum

A host of TV’s biggest names have been invited to appear at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival’s Business Content forum, a complement to the main event that will offer visitors behind-the-scenes insight into the television industry.

Running concurrently with Monte-Carlo Television Festival (MCTF), the Business Content forum will be held at the Grimaldi Forum between 15th and 17th June.

The event will feature a series of conferences and interview sessions with leading figures from the world of TV, with the panels set to include a variety of influential global network executives, international and independent producers, content creators, young innovators and media representatives.

The first day’s line-up will put Dan Cohen, the Chief Content Licensing Officer at Paramount and President of Republic Pictures, in limelight with the ‘In Conversation with a TV Titan’ segment.

This will be followed by ‘The Rebirth of Content Creation and Production Following the 2023 Strikes’ conference, which will be hosted by CEO and Executive Producer Lori McCreary of Revelations Entertainment and Nicely Entertainment CEO Vanessa Shapiro. Vance Van Petten, the Executive Director and Co-COO at the Producers Guild of America, is also set to feature.

The day will conclude with an exploration of the fine line between drama and fact when making a true story for the screen with ‘Bringing the World to Light Through TV Drama’, which will be moderated by Drama Quarterly/C21 Media’s Michael Pickard and involve a panel of well-known executives and producers, such as Piv Bernth from Apple Tree Productions, Toma De Matteis from France Télévisions, Big Dreams Entertainment’s Leslie Greif and Teresa Fernandez-Valdes, Producer at Te Espero en Marte.

Highlights of the programme on the second day include a session of European TV series market trends, an exploration of AI in content creation and distribution, and ‘New Narratives for Documentaries: The Blur Between Reality & Fiction’, a talk about the blurring of lines between reality and fiction in today’s documentary world.

The third day of the forum will see a panel of marketeers and PR experts speaking on ‘The Value of Marketing in Television’, followed by a social and ethical roundtable on ‘Being a Producer: How Do They Manage Ever Increasing Responsibilities?’.
