Photos: Hundreds of mini superheroes touch down at Monaco Carnival

Monaco’s 2025 Winter Carnival was one to remember. Drawing crowds of all ages to the Marché de la Condamine, the superhero-themed bash at the end of February was a non-stop action spectacle filled with creative workshops, face painting and meet-and-greets with the world’s most popular crimefighters.

The Marché de la Condamine set the stage for a very special superhero-themed Winter Carnival that put smiles on faces young and old on Friday 28th February.

Organised by Monaco City Hall in partnership with the Entreparents Network, the popular family-friendly celebration treated children, parents and extended families to a spectacular array of free entertainment, from mesmerising stilt walkers and awe-inspiring magicians to creative workshops, balloon artists and, of course, famous superheroes from across the years. Face painting and temporary tattoo stands were also big hits, while a lively soundtrack kept the festive spirit going throughout the event.

Deputy Mayor Axelle Amalberti Verdino, responsible for Entertainment and Leisure, emphasised the significance of reviving this cherished tradition, which had been missing from the Principality’s social calendar for many years before the Mairie brought it back, saying, “This carnival was important for Monaco City Hall, which wants to preserve and promote festive traditions. Carnival is a moment of popular joy that spans generations, and its return in winter to Monaco strengthens this bond between residents. It is also a time for family and intergenerational gatherings, offering a unique opportunity for parents, children and grandparents to get together for a celebration designed for them.”

With vibrant costumes, exciting performances and an atmosphere brimming with joy, the Winter Carnival once again proved why it is one of Monaco’s most beloved events by bringing the community together in a heartwarming display of fun, laughter and shared moments.
