Prince Albert II Foundation brings climate action to the table at NYC Climate Week

While Prince Albert II of Monaco was meeting world leaders at the UN General Assembly, his eponymous foundation was busy leading a full day of climate programming in New York as part of Climate Week NYC 2025.

Hosted under the banner of The Living Room, the event took place at The Glasshouse Chelsea on 22nd September and brought together international experts, Indigenous leaders, scientists, investors, and students for a series of discussions on ocean innovation, forest conservation, polar resilience, and sustainable fashion.

The day was led by Olivier Wenden, Vice-President and CEO of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, who called it “an essential moment to drive forward solutions for planetary health”.

“With The Living Room, we created a platform to amplify the voices of communities, promote solution-oriented dialogue, and strengthen partnerships — bridging disciplines to advance resilience for both people and the planet,” he said.

Sessions were organised around four of the Foundation’s key initiatives: the Forest & Communities Initiative, the Polar Initiative, the Green Shift Initiative and the ReOcean Fund, each addressing a specific area of environmental focus from grassroots to investment level.

Students from Berkeley College and Pratt Institute joined fashion professionals for a sustainability session on reforming the industry, while a high-level roundtable on ocean finance explored how impact capital can accelerate change in the blue economy.

Members of the Foundation’s Re.Generation Future Leaders Programme also played an active role, underlining the Foundation’s commitment to intergenerational dialogue and youth leadership.
