The Princely Government has announced its official support for the fifth annual Septembre Rouge campaign, joining efforts to raise public awareness of blood cancers throughout the month. 

As a prominent symbol of solidarity for the launch of the initiative, the Prince’s Palace was illuminated in red on the evening of Monday 1st September. While the awareness campaign spans the entire month of September, the striking lighting served as an immediate visual call to highlight haematological malignancies – including leukaemias, lymphomas, and myelomas – which remain frequently misunderstood and invisible to the general public.

Health priorities and donations 

Organisers and health authorities are using the month-long initiative to improve public understanding of these diverse pathologies and to emphasise the critical importance of blood, platelet, and bone marrow donations, noting that marrow transplantation often represents a vital therapeutic option.

Public health commitment 

The government said its support for Septembre Rouge was part of a broader commitment to disease prevention and screening in the Principality, in line with World Health Organisation recommendations.
