The Côte d’Azur Racing Society will once again hold the “Prix Princesse Charlène de Monaco-Charity Mile” at the Hippodrome in Cagnes-sur-Mer on Saturday, February 24. It will be second edition of the Charity Cup.

Each horse will be associated, by a special lottery, with a specified charity, and twenty horses will start over a distance of 1,600 metres. The represented associations will all leave winners with a global amount of €50,000 to be allocated according to the order of arrival of the horses.

The draw for the attribution of the horses to each association will take place on February 22 at the Yacht Club of Monaco, at 11 am in the Aquarama Riva Bar in the presence of Gareth Wittstock, brother of HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco, and Mr François Forcioli-Conti, President of the Racing Society of the Côte d’Azur.

Sixteen associations will be beneficiaries of the Charity Race, some related to the Foundations of the Princely Family, others dedicated specifically to the world of racing and other local charities dedicated to children and people in difficulty. Many companies and donors are supporting this second edition of the Charity Race.

The award ceremony will take place at the end of the race in the presence of Mr Wittstock and Mr Forcioli Conti in the presence of 200 personalities, business leaders, partners, and representatives of associations. Nearly 4,000 visitors attended the races in 2017.

HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco said: “I am pleased that the 2018 edition of this Charity Race, and the award that bears my name, help to protect children, people in difficulty and animal welfare.

“My thanks go to all those who supported this wonderful initiative and I would also like to congratulate the associations present for their continued efforts.”
