Arriving to Rampoldi is already a promise to enter into one of Monte-Carlo’s most exclusive, private and glamorous legend.
The beautifully decorated and lavish restaurant that we can discover today exists since 1946 and has an impressive history with Hollywood and Europe celebrities and a very special bond with the Grimaldi Princely family.
The venue keeps preciously its secrets, though. No pictures or photographs on the walls here, the confidential service and very elegant atmosphere invites to the most ultimate privacy and comfort.
Rampoldi has been successfully renovated and transformed into this luxurious space after a change of ownership, re-opening after a two years restoration period, with San Pellegrino Young Chef finalist Antonio Salvatore arrival in 2016.
Antonio Salvatore is an incredible character of 31 years old Chef, originally from Basilicata region in Italy, with a passionate approach to Gastronomy and “Arts de la table”.
Since his youngest age, during his childhood at home, he considers fine cuisine and gastronomy as a meticulous and sacred process of transformation from the garden to the most achieved presentations on the table, with a very creative assembling of the different stellar ingredients from Mediterranean and South of Italy cuisine.
The Chef reformed the restaurant Gastronomy into a contemporary and extremely detail oriented cuisine in his attempt to respond to Monaco’s reputation of being one of the best places in the world for Gastronomy. A talented Sommelier team proposes the perfect choice of best wines from prestigious labels.
The summer tasting menu created for Rampoldi by Chef Salvatore presents new creations that features only strikingly fresh fish products and seafood and all the best seasonal products coming from the region around Monaco and from Italy, with special mention for the limited-edition pasta line available exclusively at Rampoldi’s, coming from Gentile pasta factory in Gragnano, as well as the excellent Rampoldi “Olio de Oliva Extra vergine”, coming from Camporosso in Italy.
The degustation-style tasting menu starts with a “Grand bleu” inspired creation: Purple shrimps and Sicilian prawns with gazpacho, apple sorbet and wild strawberries, fresh oregano and basil leaves, recalling Italy, France and Spain favourite products fusion.
“Verde di Mare” is a light primo pasta course created with Gragnano Gentile n°12 spaghettis, smoked herring eggs, green seaweed, and fresh clams.
Red tuna in a delicious and creamy mousse is the perfect and equilibrate following main dish for warmer days in Monaco.
The dessert is the most delicious and fun chocolate surprise to crack open, inspired from childhood sweet treats memories, revealing wild strawberries, meringue and marshmallows miniatures accompanied by a refreshing ginger ice cream.
Rampoldi’s terrace offers elegant outdoor dining, refreshed by air conditioning during this especially hot 2018 summer time.
After dinner, Rampolidi’s best kept new secrets are displayed downstairs with two after hours lounges dedicated to music, live Jazz or DJ sets, and to Rampolidi’s exclusive Cigar Lounge.
