The Monegasque Athletics Federation has announced the cancellation of this year’s Riviera Classic event. The Federation said the Prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes, for security reasons, including the fight against illegal immigration, had taken the decision. The race was due to be held on March 12.
The Federation said it regretted the move and has apologised to all those who had registered for the event, including the French and Italian organisations that have strongly supported the Classic, which was first held in 2011.
Other elements of Monaco Run, the Monte-Carlo 10 km, the Herculis Relay and the 6th Pink Ribbon Monaco Walk, will go ahead as planned, the Federation said.
